Perfect place to stay. Not a new hotel but nice big rooms with tv and AC. Close to the airport and shuttle bus runs every half hour. Not far from skytrain with connections to other areas of Vancouver.

A little noisy early in the morning but then I was across from the elevator. Average clean room close to the airport with pick up service. Previous trips to hotel offered breakfast in the Restaurant but did not receive this time. To late arrival for the wine and cheese.

I enjoyed the meals. The buffet lunch was good with sufficient variety and ample amount of food.
The evening banquet was served professionally, was tasty and nutritrious.
The staff was very helpful and courteous. When serving soup for a buffet staff servers would have sped up the lineup. Seniors tend to be a bit slow in serving themselve. Also cups instead of bowls for soup would have been sufficient and been easier to carry.

A friend and myself planned a cruise out of Vancouver and spent a great deal of time looking for a hotel for two nights prior to departure. We wanted somewhere that was within our budget, that allowed us to leave our vehicle while we were on our cruise, and had a breakfast of some sort included.

In all honesty, I cannot rate the hotel as we did not get to stay there.

When we arrived to check in we were told by the manager, Sammy, that there was a problem with the plumbing/water and that half of the hotel was not available for booking. He would relocate us at another 'better' hotel just down the street. This seemed like a reasonable explanation so we did not question it. He assured us that we would get exactly the same as we were going to get at his hotel at the same cost.

The hotel we were sent to was the Travelodge a couple of blocks away. The staff at the front desk of the Travelodge were wonderful but that is no thanks to Sammy. It seems that he promised us what the Travelodge was not, at first, willing to give us. Breakfast was not included in their rate; however after us telling them what was promised by the Executive Inn, they did include the breakfast. We were able to leave our vehicle there for the time we were cruising.

When we went to check out, we were told a rate that was $5 more per night than we were to pay at the Executive Inn. After a discussion, it was agreed that they would take that cost off our bill. At this point, I would like to say that the staff that we dealt with (George Yeung & Alana) were most accommodating in dealing with all of our issues from the Executive Inn and in future I would book with the Travelodge just because of the way we were treated by them. Excellent customer service!

Now, back to the Executive Inn and Sammy. It does appear that he outright lied to us about the plumbing issues. The reason I am saying this is that we were supposed to be meeting up with another couple there on the Friday night to take a cab ride to the cruise terminal. They had arrived earlier in to town and went to the hotel on the Wednesday and asked if they could check in on Thursday instead of Friday. They were told that would not be possible as they were overbooked. Thursday was the day we were told that there was a plumbing problem.

It would appear that Sammy did not advise the Travelodge that we were to have everything that we had expected at the Executive Inn so all of our issues are with Sammy. Our stay at the Travelodge was excellent.

I have read about people being 'walked' but it has never happened to me before. I am angry and upset about the way it was handled by Sammy but most grateful to the staff at the Travelodge.

I cannot comment about anything else at the Executive Inn as we did not to experience it.

Room Tip: Book at the Travelodge!

The hotel is not great. Gets a LOT of large tour groups from Hong Kong that really hold up the check-in lines, so expect it to not be too "express" if you get behind one. The rooms are clean enough but very old and the bathrooms aren't very nice. Our TV didn't work as well. There are tiles in the hallways outside the rooms with tile so any time someone goes down the hall with a suitcase on wheels it is LOUD. The lady in the restaurant is very nice though and has been there 17 years, free continental breakfast was the best part.

Only stay here if you are on a VERY tight budget and need to be by the airport
