An amazing spot to visit anytime of the year. You can visit in the Spring and see a totally different display a month later. Pathways are in good condition, which makes it fairly accessible for most age groups. Definitely wear some good shoes though, especially if it's raining. Check before you go for the location of free parking, otherwise, there is lots of paid parking options at the top.

To find nd some peace and quiet after visiting Granville Island, we took the bus to Queen Elizabeth Park and were not disappointed. The flowers were just steadying to bloom, the grass was green, and the gardens were gorgeous. We walked through the conservatory and were delighted to see the tropical vegetation and birds. Was well worth the few dollars it cost. Definitely hot and humid in the conservatory so dress in layers that you can remove to be comfortable.

Easy access by Canada line or by car with parking available on top of the mountain.
Enjoy the views of Vancouver from its highest view point. You can stroll around the flowery gardens and waterfalls, enjoy the cool water fountains with the kids in the summer, walk your dog, play tennis or golf, visit the Bloedel conservatory.
At the end of your visit, enjoy a drink or a nice meal at Seasons in the Park. If Seasons is too expensive, why not plan a picnic in the lower fields, where the city provides charcoal barbeques around the pound (bring your charcoal). In that area of the park, you will be surrounded by many vancouver families simply gathering there with friends or celebrating birhtday parties.
I would recommend you go to Queen Elizabeth park on your first day in Vancouver, to get rid of the jet lag surrounded by beaty and nature, unless you favor the beach.
