looking forward to a decent place to stay for a couple of days and not much available as the jazz festival and dragon racing on. The Sandman Hotel is in need of much updating and a good cleaning. For what we paid $$$, we were in a shoe box and to get to we had to go through winding halls and many doors. One night stand, no house-robes (our friends paid the same and had house-robes, big room) Halls are shabby and unclean as well. Pool was very warm, and hot tub was not working which we were not advised of. A couple of things if you are staying there, check your room and if not happy go to front desk, apparently they will try and help you????
I would not recommend this hotel!!!!

Room Tip: Check your room first !!!!

The hotel is very clean and well organized. The is a swimming pool and a Denny's restaurant and the hotel is in a very central location. The room have a small fridge and the beds are comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This property is getting a little bit tired. I have stayed here three times this summer for work and each time I remind myself that it is an older property, a clean place, a place with excellent parking, very quiet, and a place near several decent places to grab dinner at. But it really could use a make over on the outside and inside some of the rooms I have seen this year.

Room Tip: I always ask for rooms in the back. The upper corners are the best, bigger rooms and still quiet.

Stayed in one of the kitchenette units. Comfortable, clean, practical and well equipped. Full size stove and fridge. Location was great as well...5 to 10 minute walk to the beach and downtown. Would recommend and we will hopefully be back again next year.

Loved the no name tv with lo definition channels. Like going back to the 1990's. The tiling in the bathroom was just out of this world, a nice dated look with deep seated grime in the grout lines - so hard to find nowadays. Congratulations on the bodged sealing and rusty door hinges it's little touches like this that truly make a trip memorable. To top it all off, room 109 has a vintage air con unit that will wake you up at night whilst making absolutely no difference to the room temperature. A bargain at $217 all in!
