We were not expecting great sushi in Alberta but we were surprised after eating at this Kinjo (there’s multiple locations across Calgary). This one is in the north of the city near the airport. The staff was extremely friendly. The manager walks around talking to everyone, offering free Japanese treats like Pocki sticks. We were given a small plate of free sushi samplers as we sat down which was really nice! The sushi is very fresh and tastes wonderful. Really enjoyed our dinner here. Would definitely come back.

We randomly went here Sunday since we haven't been for a while with family. Ordered my favourite lobster cone, tempura, dyoza, regular sashimi.tried something new -- square rolls. The kawari oshizushi and we love it so much we ordered another one hanabi oshizushi. Highly recommend this to try. Unfortunately we find that tempura are not as crunchy and even fried rice is salty. Still would come back for more next time.

We went for a birthday dinner, there were about 6 other tables there for the same reason. They do a great job for bdays. The food was good, not spectacular but very good. Portion size is quite small, good for 1 person maybe not even that. Everything is ordered by the plate. Prices are about $5-$6 per each. If you want rice that is ordered separate as well and in the price range. The sushi is the exception if you want a roll. Those prices are in the $11-$14 range for an 8 piece roll. They have rolls in the $5-$6 range but are only 4 piece rolls. Our dinner was $240 (CDN) only 4 of the 6 had drinks and those drinks were soda. The ginger beef was good but only about 5-6 pieces. The teriyaki chicken was good but again small portions. They have shows twice weekly on the proper technique to butcher a fresh tuna. Overall a new and somewhat unique dinner experience but a little pricey.
