We stayed here mid September so lack of AC not an issue. Room was on first floor so lack of elevator no problem. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Unlike some other reviewers we found room to be clean. Included hot breakfast was ok and we appreciated having it available. We found it odd that off of the front hall/lobby there is a liquor store (which is used by non-guests as well as hotel guests). As mentioned the hotel is a bit tired and could use a face lift. If is a 15-20 minute walk to town but the public bus does run right by it. It was ok but probably would not stay here again.

I spent a night at the Banff Voyager Inn while doing a recent archaeological survey in the park. In a nutshell, the room was large, quiet, with a comfortable bed and a balcony that overlooked Banff Avenue. The room contained the basic amenities – microwave, fridge (without a freezer), flat screen TV - along with a Keurig coffee-maker. The bathroom was spacious, and I appreciated having a fan in the room for creating white noise at night. Breakfast comes with the room, and there is an ample supply of the standards - scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit – served buffet-style in the large dining room on the main floor. Conveniently, there is a liquor store also located on the main floor. There is outdoor parking provided. The staff was personable and professional, and the second floor wifi was decent with a 6MB/sec download speed.

The Voyager has been a fixture in Banff for many years, and although it has been kept up, it is starting to show its age. My beefs are minor – there was no plastic laundry bag or recycling bin. The room was large enough to contain a more comfortable reading chair, rather than the utilitarian furniture provided. The flat screen TV was small by contemporary standards (I usually don’t watch TV in hotel rooms, so that was irrelevant to me). It is roughly a 15 minute walk to downtown Banff if you want to be closer to the action.

Overall, the Banff Voyager Inn could probably be best described as Banff’s version of an economy hotel. It’s a decent place to stay, and relatively speaking, the rates are quite reasonable.

Stayed here with my partner while on a group tour across Canada and found the hotel to be dated but we still found the hotel comfortable and quiet. The hotel itself is neat, clean and tidy but just needs a bit of work done. The rooms come with all the usual like tv, fridge, microwave etc. We did find our sheets looked a little worn, but they were still clean. I don't recommend the hotel's restaurant for dinner as we couldn't get any service and the only staff working that night we the one in the kitchen and the one serving, so we gave up waiting and went without. The restaurant is fine though for breakfast, with plenty of food on offer.

Spend 2 nights at this place booked by my travel agent. Hotel is old and smelly rooms, no airconditioning, no elevator and the view of the room was agents a white wall.
The light was broken, the sliding door did not work to go to the balcony. Strange is they take 100 $ deposit in case you break something. What a joke, all stuff in the room was already broken.
The only good thing to say is the breakfast, good and friendly service.

Room Tip: Do not book rooom 220

We stayed here one night in August 2017, staff were friendly, parking and wifi were free which was good. The hotel itself appears slightly outdated and in need of some rejuvenation. It seemed superficially clean but in need of a bit of a deeper clean although it had all necessary amenities.
