“Mr & Mrs”
Reviewed 15 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Having just got home from a lovely stay at Foxglove cottage I just wanted to say how nice it was!
Arrived in the dark and the cottage looked all cosy as Sue had closed the curtains and put all the lamps on :) Once we'd been shown around we were left to take in how beautiful the cottage was! Very spacious for a small family (there was myself, my partner and our six year old son), Sue had a left a fab welcome tray and the rooms were clean, tidy and laid out well. Loved the added touch of smellies in the bathroom!!
The cottage has great laminates of the local walks and a short walk to Fabrick Rock is a must. It's absolutely stunning! :)
Bed was super comfy too. I'm 6ft 1 and can usually never sleep in anywhere but my own bed but the master bedroom bed was the comfiest thing I've ever slept on!
We will definitely visit again!
Thanks again!

“Five Walkers from Devon on Derbtshire Walking Break”

On arrival the owner was there to welcome us,the cottage was in immaculate condition and all the extra touches- milk in the fridge.breakfast tray, chocolates etc.
The cottage was wonderful, everything included, and in a marvellous location, so quiet, but five miles from Matlock and seven miles from Chesterfield.
The village centre-.one mile walk, has three pubs, including the Old Poets Corner- a CAMRA award winning pub with excellent service and fantastic food.
A sensational venue for walkers- walk from the cottage to Matlock or go further afield to the Monsal Trail and the Peak District. We five mature gentlemen go away walking every Autumn and have been to wonderful cottages in Cornwall,North Devon,Dorset and Somerset. This was the best of the lot by a mile. The best value for money you will ever find.

Had a super stay at Foxglove cottage whilst attending a family wedding. The location was idyllic with far reaching views & was well placed on a footpath for dog walking. The cottage itself was spotless, comfortable & well equipped, with nice touches like super toiletries in the bathroom. It was such a peaceful spot, very relaxing & well placed for good walking country & attractions such as Chatsworth - highly recommended.

Sue was welcoming and helpful. We stayed with two of our young kids who appreciated farm animals in surrounding areas. People were very friendly and the area is beautiful. It worked out well for us because the weather was so nice and sunny but the last day was just pouring down with rain like there was no tomorrow. But you can not plan the weather.Great stay, lovely cottage Sue was great and we highly recommend this cottage to others with or without children.

“Perfect, comfortable, well equippd, rural cottage.”
Reviewed 25 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This cottage makes the perfect base to explore the scenic and historic surroundings. A car and confident driver is, however, essential. We spent several enjoyable days visiting historic stately homes and old mills where the industrial revolution really started. We also explored miles and miles of single track roads as we visited the combination of beautiful small villages and towns which abound in the Peak District. A comfortable cottage in an area abounding in historic beauty is hard yo beat.
