My wife and I spent a week with our 2 dogs at Birch Cottage. The cottage itself was nicely furnished and had 2 bathrooms (always a bonus). The garden was fantastic for our dogs. There is a gate to the path around the cottage, so safe for them to be off lead at all times. The rear garden is approx 70ft long and fenced off. There were friendly horses in the adjoining fields, and plenty of wild rabbits.
The location of the farm is ideal as just outside the Peak District National Park. Everywhere we visited was within a short drive.
We met Paul (the owner) who was very friendly and extremely helpful. He recommended places to eat and visit, and was spot on with his descriptions.
There are several decent pubs in the local area and a takeaway where food was very good, and staff friendly.
We would recommend the cottage and would have no hesitation in returning.
Friendly welcome on arrival from the owners, very clean and well equipped cottage on a farm. This was a great base for walking and visiting the peak district. Would love to visit again !
Cottage was well equipped and extra dog friendly. There seemed to be an issue with wasps terrorising the Cottage so we couldn't open the windows but I out that down to the rural area.
The cottage was a little out of the way for us and we ended up using the car to reach all of the places that we wanted to go to.
Overall an okay place to stay.
