My husband got us the jacuzzi suite on the 4th floor. The view over the hotel roof top is amazing. The furniture it built-in tiled which is typical in Mexico. The bed had clean sheet and the towels were clean. Very nice stay.

VDM is a gorgeous old Hotel with a spectacular view of the Sea of Cortez
It was clean, neat and comfortable (At least for me, as I am not too fussy……probably won't be for all you Toffs out there lol!)
The restaurant was fantastic…..Don't forget to feed the birds while you have your breakfast…..all the while trying to take in the magnificent view.
Close to all the shops in Malecon (Be aware of some shops as they are belong to Male-CON!)

Room tip: Most rooms seem to face the sea, so I am sure there is no problem securing a room with a view

This hotel is acceptable, secure, well located and reasonably priced for a certain Puerto Penasco experience. It's not on a beach, but has a very nice, lush pool area. It's absolutely not updated, and a bit run down, but we found it to be very clean with the essentials as we needed them. We had stayed in the past 20-25 visits in condos on Sandy Beach, but this location and the helpfulness of their employees are really tempting us to re-think future visits to PP. We'll be coming back here in two weeks because we enjoyed this experience so much.

The good: the staff, the food at Maria Bonita Restaurant, the proximity and walking distance to the 20 (?) bars/restaurants and 40 (?) stores, the security, EXCELLENT wi-fi, nice pool, small pet friendly, firm mattress and pillows (two of the best pillows ever).

The not so good: not on the beach, fairly strict no smoking policy (if you're a heavy smoker), older furniture and bathrooms, old TV with about 20 Spanish speaking channels only, spotty air conditioning, not necessarily ADA compliant in all areas.

We absolutely loved his hotel, and even after visiting so many times and staying elsewhere, it felt like a completely different experience. $350 for 5 nights felt like a bargain to us!

Room tip: check your ac unit. skip jacuzzi room. try for ocean view/balcony. Maria Bonita breakfast. rooftop for people watching at the Malecon.

We were on a tour from Mesa with Especially 4U Tours, 9 of us in a 15 passenger van. Luggage and hard sided coolers ( for shrimp) had to be in the passenger compartment The Hotel !!! In room 212 these were the problems. Heater did not work. Centre light and fan did not work. Tiles missing in shower. No chairs or table in room. Dripping toilet flushed about every hour. No water pressure in shower. Stained bathroom counter. No bedside light. No fridge. Plaster missing on walls. Patio furniture dirty and stained. View not as shown in 4U web page, instead a dirt open space with garbage container. Complaining to our tour guide got no results. Upon return to Mesa complaining to Sabrina one of 4U tour owners complete with photographs got a promise of "something" but nothing was ever done.

Room tip: choose another hotel

I stayed at Vina Del Mar over the weekend, it was an interesting experience. I had a beautiful view of the ocean, and staff was super friendly. It also was very secure they gave wrist band to people staying there and only people with it could be in the hotel. It is also the only hotel I believe that is on the Malecon.

Negative: the hotel is so run down, the bathrooms were not clean at all, it was not a nice looking hotel. Beds were so so. Music was playing ALL night long till 6 am, people that were staying there were blaring their music from their cars. It was very load and apparently there wasnt much that could be done to stop that.

Room tip: Corner suit had a Jacuzzi on balcony and faces the ocean
