It's a great place to grab a quick inexpensive meal - not a place for a special occasion.
Many of our friends like the tamales - you can get sweet and savoury.
Some visitors worry that the because the guisados (various meats and veggies in sauces) are prepared ahead of time and then kept warm they could cause a health hazard. We've eaten there several times and have never had a problem, nor have we heard of anyone having a problem.
I believe they are only open for the evenings from about 6 pm for 'cena' - Mexican dinner. And most likely not open Sundays.
