Sometimes you stay somewhere and love it so much you want to keep it a secret so it doesn't harm your chances of getting a place the following year.
This is just such a location.
Booked at the last minute for the Bank Holiday weekend and received excellent communications from the owner Sue.
Even though we were arriving late this was accommodated with ease. On arrival found that Sue had left tea, coffee, milk and biscuits for us which was a lovely touch.
The caravan itself is located on the St Helen's Holiday Park which is used by Hoseasons. There is a reception, games room, launderette, outdoor heated pool, children's playground and football pitch. Be aware that there is no bar, clubhouse or restaurant - and is all the better for it. This is a quiet, friendly sight in an idylic location suited to couples and families.
There is a Post Office, shop and pub within easy walking distance of the site, and St Helens beach is a short drive away.
The caravan contains three bedrooms, has a separate toilet and shower and a large lounge, kitchen and dining area. There is a modern outside deck with table and chairs. There's a flat screen TV with hard drive recorder and the caravan is fully equipped.
It probably has the best location in the park and is one of the nicest caravans. There are trees and orchards behind and a view of the hills to the front. It really is quite superb.
We travel widely across the world and can be quite critical of places we stay. We have high standards and look for the same in places we visit - and this caravan and site got 10/10. Absolutely superb and highly recommended.

We stayed here from Saturday to Saturday and had a fabulous time away as a family. We found it easily and it was only a short drive from Fishbourne. We found it very relaxing and having the pool on site was brilliant for our 6 year old. We loved the open space and walks. We found The Retreat to well equipped with everything that we should need. There is a small games room on site which our son really enjoyed. The Retreat is a fabulous get away for any couple or family looking for a quiet relaxing break. We will definitely be looking at going back again soon as we had such an amazing time.
