Excellent stay, great service, awesome beach and location, genuine staff, fun spring break getaway for my 14 year old son. Special thanks to Carlos, Hugo at the activity center, GM of this property should be very proud to have the caliber of employees who works there, just like a well oil machine, flawless. Look forward to our next visit soon.

Another year of spending time at our 2nd home! what a nice surprise with the updated rooms/bathrooms. The staff is the best. Carlos, Tomas, Umberto, Orlando, and many more are the best. They are a very big part of why we and others return to this particular hotel.
Food was much better this year than in the past.
A few sad things we found were that they had replaced some long time staff members like Jorge. He was the most friendly/helpful and dedicated employee. They surely made a mistake letting him go. He always felt that the guests were his friends, wanted them to have the best time at his "home". Management might want to rethink that decision and get him back if they can. He was a great asset to the hotel.
One other thing they need to do. The new bathrooms are great BUT... the floor of the shower is very slippery. They need a bath mat or something otherwise someone is going to slip and fall in the shower.
The additions to the kids pool are are great. Helps them have fun and keeps them somewhat away from the pool bar area.
People should not be afraid to travel to this area and in particular to this hotel. The area is safe as long as you use common sense and the staff is very cautious regarding the safety of their guests.
Holiday Inn thank you for a very enjoyable stay. Cant wait until next year.

Room Tip: The superior pool view rooms are the best. Either the ones by the "quiet pool" or the ones by the pool bar.

First of all thank you very much for taking your valuable time in expressing your lived experiences, as you say: this is your home.

It is true that our guests love our service that stands out thanks to the fact that we have a great team of dear collaborators who every day strive with love and passion.

Definitely all the improvements and the strong investments that you very well describe have caused that our property has generated a great benefit, new forms of attention and ability to handle the new systems of the brand, and unfortunately some collaborators resisted their personal growth .

Dear WisconsinAlaskan thank you again for your comment and will be a pleasure to attend the next visit to Ixtapa.

Sincerely,
Bernard Verones

We have been vacationing at this resort each year since 2006. When we originally began visiting here, the hotel was the Intercontinental Presidente. A few years ago, it switched over to Holiday Inn. While we absolutely LOVE the staff and have only amazing things to say about them, there are some other changes that have disappointed us and others who we see each year when we visit the resort. When the hotel became a Holiday Inn, they discontinued beach and pool service. While I don't mind going to the pool bar to get my drink, I hate seeing what a mess the beach and pool area have become. The waiters were constantly picking up trash on the beach and around the pool while serving the customers. Now that there is no beach or pool service, the trash piles up. When we are there, I always spend time picking up trash (used cups, cigarette butts, used napkins) in the area where we spend time on the beach. However, others do not. This results in trash on the beach which is very upsetting to me as I feel this is the most beautiful beach I have ever experienced. I would hope that the new manager would address this problem. Also, there are still numerous small children who are swimming, splashing and screaming in the pool bar area. I fail to understand why small children are allowed to be in that area when there is a wonderful children's pool area within site of the pool bar. These are my main two complaints. Now on to the wonderful things at the resort. The oceanfront room we had this year had been remodeled. The bathroom is wonderful - a new walk in shower, new fixtures, new flooring, and the room had new flooring and remodeled closet and entry area. They are beautiful! I feel the food has greatly improved since our last visit. There is the option of eating at the ala carte restaurant each night (except for the Mexican Fiesta night) and there are more menus which are rotated. This was a nice surprise. I do miss the Tropical Buffet that was held on the beach, though. The pool, restaurant and lobby bartenders are wonderful, as are Carlos and Tomas in the restaurant, and Alfredo in the ala carte. They always treat us as if we are someone special. We really miss Jorge- he had been the concierge for years, then moved to the front desk when Holiday Inn took over. I fail to understand why they aren't doing everything they can to get him back. He made this resort what it is today. He was so very helpful in every way during our stays. He helped us out when we had issues, made sure we always got the room we love to stay in, helped us with planning activities, giving us any information about the resort and surrounding areas - he did everything. I can't believe he isn't there anymore. This is a devastating loss! We feel loyal to the staff, and will probably continue to visit this resort. But we hate seeing what is happening on the beach and around the pool. There are many people who return each year at the same time we are there and we have all discussed how sad the changes are. Please bring back the wonderful atmosphere we experienced when this hotel was the Presidente. It was elegant and wonderful and we would love to see that return.

Dear yooper851,

First let me congratulate you for having returned to Ixtapa every year to live and enjoy all the benefits of the great climate of our paradise, our pools, gardens flourishing, the a la carte restaurants and buffets that every day our employees are dedicated to continuously improve, massages, photographs, shop and especially that we are a few meters from the commercial area.

It is true that the changes generate resistances and in some of our beloved collaborators, the fusion of the responsibilities in which they were involved generated a low performance even with all the training, supports, courses applied to each of them.

Your comments are of high value to us and have been shared with the team to reinforce the work in all areas of opportunity with our great team of collaborators who every day work with great passion.
It will be a pleasure to see you again the next time you visit Ixtapa.

Sinceramente,

Bernard Verones
General Manager
