“Charming period property, made to feel very welcome”
Reviewed 8 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We had a lovely long weekend at The Old Lodge with our 15 month old. The property is full of character and our daughter loved her walks up to the farm to see the pigs and rabbits. The welcome hamper was a very kind thought and the homemade Brownies were a real treat. Excellent value. Thank you.

“Like a family welcome”
Reviewed 11 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

I was born in Bragborough Hall during World War II, so I was particularly looking forward to this short visit with my wife, my brother and my sister-in-law. It was a wonderful weekend. The lodge is extremely comfortable, very cosy and excellently appointed, with all the kitchen equipment needed, plus TV and a selection of reading matter for quieter moments. The area is so pretty, with interesting places within a short drive, and the Grand Union Canal close by for walks, drinks and meals. The host family were very friendly and welcoming; we enjoyed strolling in the grounds on a sunny Sunday morning and chatting with the owners, and we left with a clear desire to return at a different time of the year.

“Luxurious, relaxing...home away from home”

I am sorry it has taken us so long to write this review! Our stay at the Old Lodge in April was truly amazing. Having relocated overseas we were looking for a picturesque relaxing, cosy but luxurious spot in the country, not too far from local towns etc, where we could relax with our then 5 month old son. And wow did we find exactly that at the Old Lodge. It has every possible amenity that you could think of, everything is absolutely spotless (hugely important to me!), it is wonderfully comfortable and cosy with the plush bedding and towels but it is also beautifully private, quiet and peaceful. We were welcomed like family by the owners and were encouraged to walk around their estate and to enjoy the scenery; they were ever so friendly and just genuinely lovely people. It truly felt like a luxurious home away from home and we will most definitely be returning when we are next in the UK! Thank you for having us and for making our stay so special. Another highlight is the welcome basket with home made goodies...what a thoughtful, delightful touch! A perfect place to spend your holiday.

Liked best: The cleanliness, comfort, cosyness and the fact that it felt like home away from home. Plus it had every possible amenity you could ever think of having.
Liked least: Nothing.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We stayed here in January, just as the winter storms were at their peak. This didn't dampen our stay one bit though. The lodge is very comfortably furnished, homely and the surrounding area is stunning! Would recommend to stay here and will be returning!

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the Old Lodge and would love to welcome you back to Bragborough again in the future. We are glad those particularly wintery storms didn't dampen your spirits, and hopefully the log burner added a bit of warmth and cosiness! Thank you for visiting Bragborough, and please come again!
