Stayed at Thornlea Mews 2 adults and a dog. Was an ideal location , lovely and quiet not far from the beaches , one of which is dog friendly all year, The accommodation has a Lovely setting, sat outside on the benches with a cup of tea and biscuit was ideal for us , Would definitely visit Hope Cove again and stay in Thornlea mews.
Accommodation was spotless and had everything that we needed. The two pubs where both dog friendly and the food was very nice, a special mention to The Cove cafe Bar lovely food and very friendly staff,
Few minutes down the road you meet the costal paths , again ideal if you have a dog,.
Thornlea Mews was a lovely place to stay, cosy cottage with all amenities. It had lovely views of the fields, well kept communal gardens, barbecue area and was just a few minutes walk to the beach, shop and restaurant/bars.
Hope Cove is an idyllic place which I first stayed at 40 years ago. I have many memorable years staying in Hope Cove and the surrounding areas with my family. The two bar/restaurants; Hope and Anchor and The Cove do lovely food. The Hope and Anchor I would recommend for watching the sunset from their terrace and the Cove was my favourite, great food and choice, ambience, friendly staff and a cool place to hang out day and evening.
A must is the coastal walk from Hope Cove to Bantham, the walk is 8 miles there and back and is not too strenuous. A good stop along the way is the Beach House at Milton Sands, for food/drink and then the Sloop Inn for lunch at Bantham. Another great place to eat if you visit Bigbury on Sea is the Oyster Shack, very quirky and great seafood.
Favourite beaches were Hope Cove and Bantham.
Lovely place, it's somewhere I will continue visiting for many years to come.
Cottage situated about 5 minutes walk from Hope Cove with its two beaches and amenities. Also within easy reach of destinations like Dartmouth, Salcombe and Burgh Island.
Cottage was ideal for us, a family of four, and offered a spacious garden for the children. There was also a nice BBQ area.
We would definitely consider a return trip to this tranquil and stunning location!
