“WOW! Just got back from PB Sunset Beach - Can't wait to return!”
Reviewed 30 March 2012

This is by far, the best resort we have ever stayed at hands down...the rooms, service, food, pools, people...where to start? OK, we stayed in a Presidential Suite with a hot tub...the rooms were fantastic, clean and comfortable. The daily maid service was great. We never saw anyone enter or exit the room. The hot tub was drained and refilled mid week. The only complaint was the uncomfortable pillows...and then I remembered that PB has a "pillow menu"! A quick phone call and 4 softer pillows were delivered. There was even a follow-up call to make sure we received them. Food was great at the Bistro and La Nao buffet. La Frida was outstanding...the Spanish coffee made table-side was really over-the-top. We did do the all-inclusive for 3 days and paid the $89/day. The 4 of us ended up going to time share presentations and received $200 US in food and beverage credit and they RE RATED the 3 days of AI to $59. I have to say that I was expecting a hassle at the front desk and was pleasantly surprised that we had no issues whatsoever. We would definitely recommend the AI especially if you drink alcohol. As for the level of service going down, we simply tipped everywhere we went and had no issues. The pool service staff were awesome and we had a really great time. The weather was perfect BTW...75-85 in the day and then a chilly 60 at night. We had 2 great dinners in town at Mi Casa and did the typical exploring. Just make sure that you don't get caught up at the airport when you get there by all of the time share taxi vultures...just say "no gracias", ignore the constant references to RCI and walk outside, Taxi to and from the airport was $85 US. The resort has a free shuttle to PB Rose on the hour and you just have to get tickets ahead of time if you are going downtown in the evenings...I can't say enough good things about this place! If you are considering it, I say "go" and see for yourself...Rose and Blanco seemed small and not as nice in comparison...

Room Tip: There don't seem to be bad ones but ask for a room with a hot tub...we loved building 23...close...

The grounds are beautiful and so are the accommodations. No matter how full the resort is, you will always find a lounge chair at one of the many pools and a willing waiter to fetch you a drink. Or if you stay in one of the villas, you have your own pool and hot tub. We always have a total of 6 people and there is plenty of room - everywhere! The perfect place to decompress :-) And, always excellent service by the concierge for a day trip, a dinner reservation, a taxi cab or a service! And we always feel 100% safe in this community.

Sunset Beach is a beautiful and luxurious hotel. The rooms, common areas, and pools are well-appointed and clean and demonstrate a great deal of thoughtfulness in their design. It's also kind of fun to ride around the resort in a golf cart! The complaint I have regarding this property has to do with the high-pressure salespeople employed by Pueblo Bonito. Once I have spent money to stay in a relaxing hotel, I don't appreciate being harassed every morning at breakfast to attend a sales pitch. It really tainted the vacation for me as I started out every day by defending myself against a sales pitch and inevitably becoming upset. My only suggestion is this: stay away from the restaurants if you don't want to have a salesperson come and interrupt you.

Room Tip: Ask for a room closer to the ocean, especially in January.

We have been going to Cabo for the past five years. Two years ago, we became owners at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach after having stayed there the year prior. We absolutely love this resort! It is well maintained, the food is excellent and the service and staff are all wonderful. While the beach is not swimmable, the resort offers very convenient complimentary shuttle service to sister property (Pueblo Bonito Rose) on Medano beach which is swimmable. Its a quick shuttle ride and you can walk into town as well from Rose. We love the Sunset Beach property as it is close enough to town, but offers the quiet and tranquility if you don't want to be down on Medano all the time (which we prefer not to). We did the all inclusive meal plan this year (2012) and found it to be a great value! It offers many food and drink options at Sunset Beach as well as sister properties Rose and Los Cabos. Sunset Beach added a Sunrise coffee this year which is a great option to just get coffee and a small treat for breakfast as an option. It is just one of the best places for a vacation...you can't go wrong and you won't be disappointed staying here!

We had a very relaxing vacation. The pools were beautiful and clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our unit was very clean. We enjoyed taking the shuttle bus to the sister resorts. We used our RCI points to vacation in Cabo for the first time. We had a great view from our room. The one thing we didn't like was the sales pitch to buy there after explained we already owned in Canada.
