“Location, right on the Marina”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

We travelled to Los Cabos in Jan., 2012. My husband and I had a studio room. It had been recently renovated and was very comfortable. We had to two queen beds (very comfortable), a small table and small kitchen area.

When we travel we don't usually hang around the hotel. The marina are has lots to see. You can go to any number of restaurants and lots of shopping for whatever you need. Obviously we did not do the all inclusive and are glad we didn't. We ate at one of the restaurants on the marina that is connected to the hotel and it was the most expensive and least impressive of all our meals. Our friends ate at another and actually got bad meat. We walked to a nearby grocery store and picked up a few breakfast items and for the rest of the meals we tried restaurants all over Cabo.

The check in and check out process was reasonable painless, perhaps a bit slow and a little disorganized. We did not do the welcome talk, but had little trouble with the time share people. That was a first in Mexico! The resort also has free wi-fi. Not real reliable, but certainly usable.

As I said earlier we didn't stay around the resort much but all in all if you like to be in the middle of things and are able to walk everywhere, this is the place to be.

Property was nice, large pool area, well kept, clean rooms, friendly staff with the exception of the time share pests who bother you from the minute you check in until you leave. Food was marginal; better off eating elsewhere. Drinks were very high priced and absolutely no alcohol in them since they book primarily all inclusive guests. Rooms have no safe for storing valuables so plan on some other way to secure your stuff. Easy walk to the beach and the marina, shops, restaurants are literally right outside the door.

Room Tip: Higher floors have more privacy and better views. If you want a really peaceful day, try the smaller...

We stayed 4 nights and just got back yesterday and are going through detox…….Wow to much Tequila!! The resort is centrally located so if you wanted to go downtown or to the beach its only a 5 – 10 minute walk. If you do the all inclusive be ready to sign for every little thing you order (kind of a pain). The food was ok nothing too much to write about. The service in the hotel was very good but at the outside restaurants (part of the all inclusive) they were extremely slow! All in all a nice place and a great time but would pass on the AI next time.

I stayed at this hotel because there it was all inclusive, walking distance from the marina and medano beach.
My pros
I really liked the options of restaurants on the marina that was included. We really enjoyed Jacks and had an opportunity to try them for breakfast and dinner. Yes every time you order food or drinks you have to sign a slip but it was for each sitting it didnt bother us at all.
The staff at MF were very kind. We didn't have any problem with timeshare sharks.
The location of this hotel was great! I loved being walking distance to everything, so convenient! Medano beach wasn't too far either, only a five minute walk. I thought the all inclusive option was worth the money we ate good and had drinks galor ;)

Cons
The hotel does not have the beautiful view of the ocean.
The pool area seemed small but it was mostly adults.
We did not get a renovated room, I think I would have enjoyed my stay more if my room would have been renovated. The rooms were clean and roomy but I'm starting to get spoiled if there is no plasma tv.

For us I think the pros out weigh the cons, we would stay here again if the price is right and be certain we get a renovated room. Cabo villa is also my favorite hotel but no all inclusive there.

Just back after a 17 night stay at the MF. Had a fantastic time in the sun, met many new best friends. Joey & Jenn, Pam & Richard, Anne Marie, Colleen, a big shout-out to you all. What happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo!!
The staff at MF are really great and really make you feel welcome. A few standouts were Paco and Antonio who run the lobby bar, a great tag team, Manuel and big Carlos who supplied great poolside service, kept us well lubed, so to speak. Keep up the great work!
We were in room 422 which was an updated room, leather couch, flatscreen, etc. with a pool and marina view. It is a nice shady room, which we were thankful for after a full day in the sun.
Housekeeping was about the best we have encountered in our 24 trips to different places in Mexico. They cleaned everything everyday, even the screen door! Fantastic job gals!
The drinks were good, margaritas deadly!
We had the all-inclusive package and for the most part it was great. Loved being able to dine at the Palapa buffet and also to go to the resteraunts down on the Marina.
Apparently the MF owns these resteraunts: Jacks place, Tequila Museo, Los Deseos, Immo Sushi, Presto and Baja Lobster Co.
Of these 6, Los Deseos and Baja lobster were not included in the Golden all- inclusive package. For the life of me I can't understand why. I understand that lobster on the menu is a premium dinner, so why not allow it with an up charge on the package. Many of the dishes at Los Deseos were also available at Tequila Museo, yet we couldn't eat at Los Deseos.
The food was good overall, and we didn't lose any weight here!
Having to sign bills for everything you consumed was strange, but we got used to it after being chased down a couple of times by wait staff " Senor you didn't sign the bill".
A couple of things that kind of irked. My wife loves Mimosas and enjoyed them at the lobby and pool bars many times. All of a sudden, mimosas at the pool bar and the Palapa buffet were not on the all- inclusive any more, but we could still get them at the lobby bar??
Then after 2 weeks in they weren't included anywhere. One bar man told us he couldn't understand why as the sparkling wine they use only cost 60 pesos a bottle. Go figure. Also no Kahlua on the package and it's cheaper than dirt in Mexico!
Other than those couple of things the resort is great, and we had a fantastic time. I would not hesitate to return!
