“Really cosy cottage, highly recommended.”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We stayed in this lovely cottage for a week at the end of April. We found it very quiet, comfortable and well equipped. The wood burning stove was the biggest and best we'd ever seen and it was a joy to watch so many birds feeding in the garden. Hope to return again one day.

“cosy, home from home!”
Reviewed 26 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Just had a fantastic long weekend at Rose cottage, and what a lovely feel the place has. Huge fire with plenty of logs - which was greatly appreciated! only had a couple of niggles with the wifi not working and the garden not being entirely dog proof, with the gaps in the hedge. Had to keep my terrier on her lead, a larger dog would probably be ok though. Having said that, I still have to rate highly as I'd definitely recommend to others and I would love to return myself at some point... The photos really don't do the place justice, so much nicer in the flesh!!! loved it!!

Management Response
9 Jun 2014
Thank you for making time to post a review.
Jenny and I are delighted that you had such a good time at the cottage.

We also very much appreciate your feedback, and we’ve now fixed the ‘dog proofing’ in the garden.

I am sorry you didn’t call us for the Internet… Whatever the problem was, we would have solved it very easily. The wifi has worked without fail for years – we use it each time we’re at the cottage ourselves and we’ve never had any queries from any other guests. If you were to come back another time, please do not hesitate to ask for help.

Kindly,

Emmanuel

“Comfortable cottage in lovely countryside”
Reviewed 8 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

My mother and I were looking for an autumn holiday at short notice and we wanted somewhere warm with comfortable chairs and good reading lights in case the weather wasn't good. Rose Cottage was highly recommended in internet reviews on these counts and lived up to the expectations these reviews had raised. It was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and Wallace and Betty were as friendly, helpful and welcoming as other guests had said. We found the instructions for the equipment comprehensive and the guides to the Cotswolds very useful. Our only disappointment was that the weather was unseasonably mild and so we didn't need to use the woodburning stove! One thing that should be highlighted before people book, though, is that the staircase is steep and narrow - there's a rope hand 'rail' and using that my mother (a spry 85-year-old) had no problems with the stairs, but very young children or people with mobility problems might.

“Charming, well equipped”

Lovely cottage in typical Cotswold village. Very well equipped with obviously a lot of thought to the needs of clients. Great wood burner too and dog friendly. Will be visiting again

“Perfect fairy tale cottage”
Reviewed 22 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

This is my second stay at Rose Cottage, and I hope to continue to stay there in the years to come. It is so charming—18th century, beams, wood stove in the original stone fireplace, decorated most tastefully in furniture and art—exactly what I want in a country cottage.
The location could not be better; there is so much beautiful countryside around and attractions to see. It is set in a tiny village with basically no traffic except for the people who live there, so it is QUIET. All you hear is birdsong. Sometimes mooing.
The owners have successfully tried to think of everything the renter might need. I never needed something, that I didn't open a drawer and find just the thing. Cold? They have extra heaters. Hot? They have a fan. Lots of extra blankets and duvets on very comfortable beds and pillows. (I do miss that pillow......) With the cool air, the quiet, and the pillows and bed, I slept like I haven't slept in months.
There are two bedrooms WITH GOOD READING LIGHTS. So rare! One European king (U.S. queen) bed, and the other has a double.
There is a lovely garden with a table and chairs (sun umbrella if you need it) The garden has birds and lovely flowering plants.
The house has WiFI that works like a charm. There's large flat screen TV in the living room.
Everything was extremely clean upon arrival.
In other words, I'm in love with the place.
