“Relaxation, comfort and scenery; all to be had at Strathlachlan Lodge”

Having been one of the first guests to the Lodge in 2010, it was always our intention to return. Nothing from our second visit has altered this view, and we would hope to return within the next two years. The lodge is welcoming, very comfortably furnished, well equipped for those like us who enjoy self catering, relaxing, with a country view to aid the de-stress. For those to whom it is important (like others in our small family group!) the wifi worked well. For those of us who prefered a good book, the warm fire and cosy couch became great end of day friends. Argyll is a magnificent area of Scotland and our Autumn breaks at Strathlachlan Lodge have been precious to family memories.
The added decking area outside the kitchen meant sunny breakfasts whilst the terrace area off the lounge meant g and t's before tea in the late afternoon sunshine - perfect!
Within close proximity there are excellent eating establishments and many areas to explore by foot and car. Bikes provided to borrow stored in the basement. If self catering is prefered it would be advisable to take sufficient provisions as local shops are limited.

“Absolutely first class in every respect. Will definitely return there.”

We returned to Strathlachlan Lodge for the second time this year after our first visit was unfortunately cut short. We were delighted with the cottage, it's location, the spotless presentation and the care and thought that has gone into it. The area is beautiful, the facilities superb and the nearby eateries etc are first class. Congratulations to Mark and his housekeeping team for a job well done.

“High quality accommodation in peaceful setting”

We had a wonderful holiday in Strathlachlan Lodge. The cottage is furnished to an extremely high standard and was beautifully clean. There is plenty to do in the vicinity though you need a car to make the most of the area. Local restaurants are wonderful and the walking, cycling and watersports available are excellent.

“Pretty but remote”

The cottage is lovely and very comfortable but too remote for older people.
The nearest village shop is 5 miles away.
The web site gives the impression that the cottage is close to the loch but it is not.
No taking the dog for his last walk at night as there is no lighting and no pavement along a fairly busy road which would make it too dangerous.

Management Response
20 Aug 2012
Unsuprisingly in rural Argyle we generally dont have pavements, street lighting or a local Sainsburys! We do however have nature, spectacular scenery and tranquility.
The hamlet of Strathlachlan is accesed by a scenic route, single track, B road with a handful of cars passing by by day and virtualy none at night. To sugest the road busy and dangerous is simply untrue. The loch side is two miles away.
These unfortunate guests who departed leaving their clothes in the wardrobes clearly chose the wrong type of holiday and destination and there dissatisfaction is no reflection on our property. From our guest book we have a 98% positive response from over 80 guest parties during the last three years.
