I had no idea beforehand how truly fantastic this place is or how well furnished -- complete kitchen with the right equipment for real cooking, not just reheating; and a charming two-seat dining counter . The bathroom is spacious, and separate from the WC (great for two-person occupancy), the king-size bed is really comfortable, the linens are luxe, and the color coordination between the sleeping/living area speaks of great taste and care on the part of the owner. There's a balcony on one side of the casa, and a terrace with table and two chairs on the entry side which leads to a private lounge area on the roof and to the steps to the street. Maid service is unobtrusive and complete.
The casa is so charming, so liveable, that you forget how close you are to the center of town and are tempted just to stay there to relish it all. I liked doing my crossword puzzle while having my morning coffee and sweet roll on the terrace which is beautifully landscaped and totally private. A quick shower -- very spacious, I might add --and then off to town for leisurely walking through the historic district. where there are great little restaurants, cafes and taco stands.
I almost hate to give this "loft" such a great review in the worry that it won't be available for my next visit to San Miguel de Allende.
