Description: MuRo Named after the two surnames of one of the two guys who own it, Cafe MuRo open in Loreto Street stayed there from May 2010 to recently when it moved to its new venue at 1 San Gabriel St. in the beautiful Barrio del Obraje, just few setos from Fabrica La Aurora. It has been known for the quality of food and friendship of the staff- Cafe MuRo is a prestigious establishment well known for its cozy and homey atmosphere and popularity with locales and foreigners. Many regulars bring out-of-town visitors who want to get a "feel" of Mexican flavors in a not pretentious place. Cafe MuRo is much more a pleasant than the location might suggest. Not much to look at from the street, until you spy the delicacies within. The menu consists of simple, well-cooked, fresh and traditional Mexican food. Wonderful home-bread and soups, salad, good-sized portions, and fair prices make it a great place for everybody. Staff is friendly and helpful. When you come to MuRo, you are guaranteed a good meal and friendly service everybody time. Highlights include breakfast all day, a salad to die for and strong Mexican cofee that will knock you out. We assure you that once you are sitting in Cafe MuRo enjoying its food and service, you might want to stay longer that you originally tought! See you soon!

We were here late on a Sunday morning, and each ordered egg dishes all around the table. While they also do offer American-style waffles and similar, we wanted genuine Mexican and weren’t disappointed. Their red sauce packs some heat, the green sauce a bit less, and on the eggs, they both were fantastic. We enjoyed the verde jug (green juice) and my mimosa was wonderful.

The staff was shorthanded but you wouldn’t know it by the attention given to us. Professional, courteous, patient with our questions. Yes, our server spoke English.

When you’re here, don’t miss going up the stairs to the 3rd floor where a lovely balcony and AMAZING view of San Miguel awaits you. Hold onto your hat (and the railing!) because it can be a bit breezy. You’ll want to take some memorable photos!

From here, we walked down the street and around the corner to Fabrica de Aurora to enjoy the art. We weren’t hungry until almost dinnertime. Muro is on our list of places to visit again when we return to San Miguel!

The place is a little bit hidden and away from the center of the town. The food is very good, tasty, abundant and at a very affordable price. Also the venue is very comfy

This cafe is off the beaten track, but worth the short trip. Creative and tasty dishes. We've lived in the area for 8 years and regularly travel to San Miguel. We will definitely be back!

While its more geared for couples, like most Mexican restaurants, it was kid friendly.

We came here for a lunch after spending time at Fabrica. It's in a neighborhood and it seemed like we were at a dead end but our maps said we should be right on top of it. Persist! The food was really tasty. The owner cares about your experience. I had eggs benedict with serrano ham (amazing) and my husband had beef fajitas (cooked so perfectly with a great mix of spice and vegetables). You didn't even need to wrap it in a tortilla it was so delicious on it's own. Cute house, outdoor seating. Worth another trip!
