This is the start of many lovely excursions, and their little lunch spot is delightful. Almost every night there is music or a movie.
And they have a large selection of books, both in English and Spanish. Great place to volunteer.......or meet a friend.

The Biblioteca is not just the second largest library of english language volumes in Mexico but a veritable fountain of activities ranging from films, to music, tours, talks and lectures, as well as lot's of information about going's on elsewhere in San Miguel. The library also has its own cafe and gift shop. This is the hub for expats in San Miguel but also has a lot of local patrons and sensitivity to the local culture as well. Don't miss it!

The second largest English language library in Latin America is located right in SMA. It is inspiring to visit this place, as it was started by an American as a gift to the kids of SMA. It is still supported by lots of faithful volunteers. All sorts of movies and performances are hosted in the theatre there, and they have a nice coffee shop which offers a quiet place to grab a bite to eat. The Sunday Home and Garden Tours leave from here. Be sure to check to the gift shop!

Biblioteca Publica is much more than just a library. After the Jardin, it is the center of life in SMA. Here you can learn all that is going on in town. There is also a theater here that has something going on just about every day. Be sure to check out the Biblioteca while you are in SMA.

The biblioteca really is a cultural hub in town. They offer excellent, intimate concerts in smaller side rooms, and we have attended 2 so far this week (average cost = 200 pesos per person). From a relaxed meal in a beautiful setting to stunning murals in side rooms and a great array of books, I could easily spend a few days in the library and still not have seen all I wanted to.
