We enjoyed a wonderful family week in Homildon House. The property's location is lovely and rural with view across rolling countryside from every angle. Our children (8 months and 3) loved seeing the animals and helping Andy collect the eggs. They also delighted in finding a toy chest in their bedroom, plus an array of garden toys and buckets and nets ready for their beach adventures.

We were equally impressed with the quality of the property. Clean and modern bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a contemporary kitchen with every utensil you could need, including plenty of plastic crockery and cutlery for the kids. The cottage isn't huge inside but it is plenty big enough if you plan on being out and about during the daytime. Netflix is there too alongside a wood burning fire, for cosy nights in.

Thank you Lorna and Andy for a lovely week and the welcome cream tea which went down a treat!

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your stay. It is much appreciated. Really good to get a family review who like the location and the farm. We're so pleased the children enjoyed the animals and egg collecting. It's sometimes nice for children to play with toys that aren't familiar so it was good that they enjoyed the toy box. We're glad to see you borrowed the nets and buckets. Hope you found some interesting things on the beaches. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the future. With kind regards.

We stayed at Cuddy's Croft, a perfect cottage in a lovely setting. The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated and Lorna and Andy are perfect hosts. The fresh bread and cream tea was much appreciated. It was our second time there and will not be our last.

We had a wonderful stay at Spylaw farm. It was our first visit to Northumberland and this is a fantastic base to explore the countryside and coastline. We will definitely return. Thank you to Lorna and Andy for making our stay so great, the cottage is so well equipped and homemade scones and bread were very much appreciated.

We stayed in Cuddy's Croft, one of the converted farm buildings at Spylaw Farm. The location is quiet and delightful - the welcome from Lorna and Andrew is warm and the cottage has been converted, decorated and equipped with thought and taste. This is the kind of place you can use as a base for excellent days out - for example to Cragside, Berwick, Ross Sands and Holy Island. But you can also relax and enjoy meeting the "residents" - sheep, geese, chickens etc. The sloping ceilings in the upper rooms (living and bedroom) are a pain if you are as tall as my husband but that really is the only thing we could find to dislike!

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay and so sorry the ceilings are coombed but that's the quaintness of the place! Perhaps try Homildon House next time as the double bedroom downstairs has higher ceilings! Really glad you enjoyed your stay, found the cottage tastefully decorated and the location quiet and delightful. We do hope to see you again but perhaps in Homildon House for 2.

Very high standard accommodation kept to an excellent standard. Though in a very quiet location, Spylaw is perfectly located for exploring Northumberland either with short drives to places of interest or walking using St Cuthbert's Way which passes nearby.

Room Tip: Our stay was in Cuddy’s Croft, which had a downstairs kitchen and bathroom, with bedroom and sitting room in a beautifully converted loft. The upstairs space is very light with large roof windows and the kitchen and bathroom have modern and well chosen appliances.

Great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and that you thought your accommodation was excellent. As you say from Spylaw it's easy to visit both hills and coast, making it a good base to explore from. We are only a mile from St. Cuthberts way where there is a life size wooden carving of him that you no doubt saw. The coast and Cheviot hills are both within 7 miles of Spylaw.
We look forward to welcoming you both back in the future and many thanks for the fab review.
