My wife took me here for my birthday and boy did I enjoy it. The food is to die for, from nibbles to dessert. In order of favourites; the expectations were met well especially the Beef Wellington. Yum yum. Wife's garlic prawns were better then escargot for entree, the lamb was succulent and delicious. The profiteroles and creme brûlée were both outstanding with the chocolate sauce edging out the toffee. Great ambiance and service. Take a bottle of your favourite red and savour the experience.

Having been coming here for 10+ years and not being back for the last 2 years it was great to see it is still exceptional and the newer owner have maintained the high standard of food.

The late is the best you will find.

My favourite meal has always been a pepper steak and so many countless restraunts around the world do not know how to do this well ie like the French do.

Here is the best and simply prefect.

The garlic prawns as a starter are also delicious.

Put simply it really is exceptional and hence you won't get in any night without a booking.

Brains, snails, offal, onion soup - all French, all tasty with the right accompaniments . Then again, the Beef Wellington, The Steak au poivre , the rack of lamb, the Duck L''Orange are all traditional French fare - all cooked well but nothing particularly special. At $50 for 2 courses and $60 for 3 courses, it is reasonably priced but the disappointing feature of the night was how many tables they managed to pack into the small space (about 3 or 4 too many, I would say).. This meant constantly talking with raised voices to be heard. This also provided a problem for a service squeezing and reaching over etc - but at least it was provided with a degree of charm and humour.

I know this restaurant has been around for 30 years or so, but it has maintained the excellence in food and service.

It couldn't be better.

Seafood pancake to start, following by Beef Wellington and then cheese & fruit to finish.

Great value. B.Y.O. drinks. Not licensed.

Best to phone and book

This is your typical suburban French restaurant..The food is a decent French feed for the price. The seafood pancakes are always worth a try..as well as their nightly specials..
My only criticism is the tables are too close together and there is only one person serving, which makes it a bit hard to order, especially when its busy.
I suggest you turn up for a table after 8 that way all of the early birds have ordered and are probably on desert leaving you and your friends to get served in the not so manic manor.
Saying that the free pate is a great touch and the food is always above.
par.
Give it a try..you might be pleasantly surprised.
