The Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas were not up to standards. For $150 i didn't expect too much as it still was ski season but still hoped for more. :)

Check In: 4 Stars
Check In was nice, had the famous Westin aroma and the front desk lady was nice. No SPG upgrade and I understood since it was a "Villa" property but I had hoped for one. The villas are actually not connected to the main hotel but connected by the parking lot.

Room: 3 Stars
For a Westin, expected more for the room but the room was still acceptable. Very slimed down version of a Westin especially with the bathroom. The famous "Heavenly Shower" only had one head! All Westin properties I have stayed at had two heads. A little disappointed on that. We had a studio villas and a plus was the full sized fridge and kitchenette. I really liked the bench seating in the room where you could sit and eat. The room was equipped with a Queen Sized bed and a Double Sleeper Sofa. The sofa was not confortable so we got a rollaway for $5 which solved the problem :). The balcony was nice with a table and two chairs. Overall, the room was decent.

Service: 4 Stars
The service was good, and the rollaway bed came up really fast and the concierge was nice and helpful. Overall, service you expect from a Westin.

Location: 1-2 Stars
The location was in Avon, and not at Beaver Creek Mountain, pretty much at the base. Having stayed inside the Beaver Creek Village this was inconvenient to the village. The Westin is located in "Riverfront Village" and pretty much is the only tenant in 'Riverfront Village." There is a gondola from the hotel that says it connects to Beaver Creek but wait for it.... It goes to the BASE of the mountain and not where the village is! From where the gondola ends you have to TAKE A BUS to Beaver Creek. Very disappointing design flaw! No point whatsoever for the gondola! Faster to DRIVE TO THE VILLAGE... You have to take the gondola then wait for a bus! Overall if you want to spend most time at Beaver Creek and the village up there to ski, eat, walk around etc. you should book hotels in the village (Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek Lodge).

Other quirks:
Market Avondale Restaurant (More like fast food) was very bad and pricy.
The parking lot was very confusing with a lot of poles everywhere and signs leading you to drive into the wall? Just very confusing with all the poles in the way (Seems people have hit the walls in the lot cuz of the dents lol) and the underground structure was somehow very very sandy which was a turnoff for a Westin.

Overall the Westin was a tad disapointing and I would opt for the hotels in Beaver Creek Village which is more convenient for skiing, shops and restaurants. If you don’t plan to spend too much time in the Beaver Creek Village then this hotel may be ok.

We are so very sorry to hear that we failed to meet your standards and you left feeling disappointed with the stay. We do appreciate the compliments you gave us on our quick service with the Westin Heavenly Rollaway Bed delivery, our nice and helpful concierge, the nice check-in, and the amenities in your villa (kitchen, refrigerator, dining room table). The Market (formerly Market Avondale) does focus on serving to-go convenience items for those on the run. If your travels ever bring you back you might consider as an alternative trying the new Lift Café or our full service restaurant Cima. We agree the Riverfront Express Gondola is not your quickest transportation choice for getting to Beaver Creek Village, although if you enjoy spectacular views the extra time riding on the gondola can be worth it. For sure, the quickest way to Beaver Creek Village is to take a shuttle from the convenient Avon Transportation Center located just across the street from the Resort. As far as the Riverfront Express Gondola, it goes from the Resort to Bachelor Landing where the chair lift then whisks you up the mountain to begin your day on the snow. Intermediate and advanced riders can ski from the top of the chair lift to any number of places including Beaver Creek Village. As you are aware, for those who do not ski or board there is also bus transportation available from Bachelor Landing to various locations including Beaver Creek Village, Bachelor Gulch, and of course back to Avon. We understand you have many choices available to you for accommodations and if the opportunity presents itself for us to host your vacation again, please be assured we would welcome the opportunity. Thank you.

This is one of the nicest hotels we stayed at during our trip to Colorado. The room was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice, with two shower heads. The hotel is very close to Vail mountain and has a gondola right outside to Beaver Creek. The ski concierge stored our skis and boots and had them ready to go in the morning for us. The outdoor pool was heated and there were very nice hot tubs as well.

My wife and I returned to the Westin as part of a time share promotion and were upgraded to a one bedroom deluxe suite. The unit was over 800 sq feet and had the latest amenities. The shower alone was bigger than many closets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villas and ended up buying a biannual time share. The Westin Villas and Hotel is a great ski resort as a gondola nearly comes into the hotel and takes you to the slopes. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. A five-star vacation!

I have stayed at the Westin Riverfront Hotel a few weeks prior to this stay so I have a certain expectation for this property. My husband and I are SPG members and used points to stay a night in this location. We had a studio villa that was VERY well appointed. Huge, long dining table with built in bench. Very complete kitchen with full sized refrigerator. Beautiful bathroom (again, like at the hotel, with the crummy bath products-so Holiday Inn!!!). The bed looked quite comfortable, after all the hotel is known for the Heavenly Bed. But I said LOOKED comfortable. Had to be one of the worst nights sleep I have had! I felt springs in my back and I was in the King bed, my poor daughter had to sleep on the sofa bed. I am not sure how they call that a bed. She would have been more comfortable on the floor. The Heavenly bed and shower were missing from this room. I was under the impression (as we have taken the time share tour of this property) that all the villas were equipped with the Westin features. Hmmmm. Our room was on the 3rd floor and not near an elevator, but that was one NOISY night. Doors slamming and voices at all hours of the night (this was a Thursday night) and you could clearly hear what was going on in the room beside us (lets just say not G rated and I don't care to listen to it). These rooms are lockoffs of bigger suites, but we were hearing so much noise/conversation, etc coming from the walls, not the door area of the lock off. Let's just say I expected a lot more. I am happy I only spent points on this one! The one positive is the self parking-though not easy to figure out the maze of pathways you have to drive to park near your room. FYI, keep your room key after check out to get your car out of garage. We left our keys in the room and couldn't drive through one of the gates out of the garage without a room key. We moved to the Sheraton Mountain Villas for the next two nights.

Room Tip: Not sure if any room is going to be quiet considering the lock offs.

Thank you so much for describing your villa as VERY well appointed, with a huge, long dining table and complete kitchen and full size refrigerator. We were a little confused when you described the bed in the studio villa as king size as our studio villas come with a queen size Westin Heavenly Bed. The larger one bedroom villa we offer does come equipped with a king size Westin Heavenly Bed in the master bedroom. The pull out sofa beds are not branded, and while they can come in handy we recommend requesting (a small charge will apply) having one of our Westin Heavenly Rollaway Beds delivered. The Villa building is just a little over 2 years old, as are the mattresses, so we cannot explain the experience you had with the mattress. The Westin Heavenly Bed has a zip on/off pillow top that allows us to replace the pillow tops more frequently than the entire mattress. It would be a mistake but we cannot help but wonder if the pillow top on your bed was missing because if it was in place we cannot imagine you could feel any springs. It is not typical for our guest to tell us they were able to hear noises through the walls. We are sorry this was the case with your stay. In regards to the bath, all our villas feature the Westin Heavenly Bath. This of course includes the all the terry, the brand curved shower rod, and the bath products including the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath gel and body wash. These products are available for purchase on the Westin website, under the shopping tab, and come in additional scents including White Tea Aloe, Green Tea Grapefruit, and Chamomile Lavender. Exiting the parking structure from the P2 level does require a room key. We hope this was made clear to you on arrival. Please know we appreciate your comments and are extremely disappointed we fell short of delivering on your expectations.

Stayed for 1 week with friends for snow skiing. This year the responsiveness and overall quality for customer service was much better than any previous visits. Of those who made a difference were: Andrea Bell (front desk) who made sure that the checkin and later any other issues were personally handled satisfactorily; Eugene (valet) who is always a great resource for the area and is very dedicated to guests; and Jon Adgate (guest services manager) who met all his promises and did a gr8 job! Finally got to meet the general manager in the lobby. Only hitch was once with skies and locating them; but, it was worked out quickly. Staff and massage at spa was exceptional.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid a previous pet in room, request that when staying at the Westin itself. Pets and smoking are not allowed in villas.
