I'm a teacher and went to Tulum on a field trip with 8 high school kids and 2 other adults. We stayed at Villa Tankah and it was a great place to stay. It more than accommodated our group. I don't know if it would sleep 16 comfortably but it definitely could sleep 14. We had a great time. Only a 10 minute drive to Tulum Puebla and Beach. The place had all the amenities we needed. Although, there wasn't an oven, there was a stove with 4 burners and there were 2 refrigerators so we were able to make all of our meals there which helped out our budget a lot. The pool was also great. It was clean and it kept the kids occupied. Didier, the caretaker, was very helpful and very nice. When we wanted to bbq, he set up the grill. When we asked him which was the best local market to buy groceries, he drove us there. Such a nice guy. The cleaning lady was also really awesome. Everyday, she would come in and make sure we had clean towels and wash the dishes. The place was spotless everyday.
I think the best part of this place is the location. Its pretty secluded and safe. The kids were able to walk around the beach and bike in relative safety. There are 2 restaurants that were walking distance which were very good. Also, at night we walked along the pretty secluded beach and saw huge turtles coming up to the shore and laying eggs. It was pretty amazing.
I would stay here again if I had a large group. You can't get a better deal considering the location, the pool, and the price. Highly recommended.
