We spent a very relaxed week at Casa Mañana recently. firstly, the owners made sure we were properly prepared for our stay, and they checked on os the first and last days. All was good, we happily reported.
The condo was beautiful and very comfortable. The pictures we saw before we got there did not do it justice. Very tastefully appointed with high quality furnishings and art.
At the complex itself, The Alizes, the on-site staff was great, always there and attentive.
We spent most of our time walking, mostly off the beaten path looking for less touristy things like local restaurants and such. We walked on the beaches every day also, but they were crowded, so we weren’t too much in beach-bum mode. We did very minimal shopping other than for groceries, but if you want to load up on souvenirs or other things, 5th Avenue has got them. Literally a couple miles of tourist stuff.
The weather was hot so we would spend a couple hours a day at the pool, cool-dipping and reading. There's very snappy WiFi in the place, much better than most hotels. The only down side is that the WiFi is a little spotty in the bedroom, but really, what are you doing on your computer there, anyway? It's very strong everywhere else, and there's even a nice little deck out front that you can sit, surf, and watch the world go by.
There is a 7/11 on the ground floor, which had all the convenience store stuff, and SCUBA shop that we contracted to do a day of diving with at Chikin Ha Cenote, a cavern dive spot about a half hour out of town.
We’ll be back!
