“Excellent Lodging in an Excellent Area”
Reviewed 6 February 2018 for a stay in January 2018

My friends and I have stayed in the Calle 26/Avenida 20 area for three years now and we love the neighborhood. It's conveniently located with no traffic noise and quiet at night. We did not rent a car but there seems to be ample parking available on the street in front of the building if you choose to do so.

The apartment is well furnished and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is especially well-equipped with modern appliances, tableware and almost any kitchen gadget you'd ever need.

The roof deck is a delight. It's a great place for late afternoon/evening drinks to watch the stars come out or for a nightcap. While we didn't use the Weber grill on the deck we did have several meals up there.

Gabriela, the property manager, is very helpful and responsive, as are the owners. They are only an email or text message away and always respond rapidly.

I spent three weeks in the apartment and after a few days it began to feel like home. That's because it is the vacation home for the owners and they have decorated it and maintain it accordingly. I was sad to leave.

Note that there is some construction work going on in the building next door which can be a little noisy during the day but the workers strictly respect 9-to-5 working hours. My guess is that there are a few more months to go before it's finished.

Assuming we return to Playa del Carmen next year this apartment will be our first choice. I recommend it without hesitation.

“Toltec House is in our favorite area of Playa”
Reviewed 21 August 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We enjoyed our week at the Toltec House. Its located across the street from a school, and the neighborhood is a wonderful area. Just blocks to Papa Charly's, Don Chendo, El Fogon, Mega, DAC, etc, etc......The walk to the beach isn't bad, just 5-6 blocks and as we walk everywhere in Playa the location is excellent for us.
The condo itself is well appointed. Two bedrooms, bed very comfortable, excellent kitchen and an outside area upstairs for entertaining if you wanted to have a few friends over. Only 1 bathroom and its upstairs so if there are two couples it may be a little tight, but nothing major. We also didn't run the AC except at night and a little one day when the Tequila from the night before kept us in.....still had to pay a little extra when the week was over and it surprised me as I thought we basically didn't run it downstairs ever....just our bedroom upstairs. Oh well, it wasn't much $16us.
Urusela, has thought of just about anything you would need for the beach or sight seeing, etc....washer and dryer there as well. No Pool, but the ocean is close.
We would not hesitate to book the condo again. We've been to Playa well over 20 times now, and have always stayed at a different place, but for us the location is so good we may very well book this condo again down the road.

Felt at home. From welcoming flowers and wine to impeccable cleanliness and comfortable amenities. Great location. Four blocks from beach and Avenida 5 happenings and restaurants. Around the corner from bus station for day trips to Tulum, Merida or others. Easy access to short ferry for world class diving in Cozumel. Nice to wake up to sounds of birds singing outside master bed window. And great bed. Excellent internet. Owner is caring and accessible. Highly recommend.

“Nice place”
Reviewed 29 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Yes this is a very cool place we came here for my wife's birthday with my two sons 17 and 19 the place was big enough not to be in each other's hair all the time , every thing you need was here just like Ursula said it would be , Gaby met us on arrival and was very helpful in general , the neighborhood is nice and quite about 10 mins walk to the beach about 4 blocks , the only thing I missed is the family seating area is to small for lounging around and hanging out ,other than that is a good place to stay , we enjoyed it

“Beautiful house In a local neighborhood”
Reviewed 10 December 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Quiet neighborhood across from a school. Local establishments short walk away. Beach close by and 5th Avenue easy walking distance. The house is well equipped with everything you need. Two levels of comfort. Stairs could be a challenge of you have physical limitations. The owners Ursula and Sergio live on property and will answer all of your questions. They supply drinking water. Great rooftop patio. Very safe neighborhood. You can't go wrong. Shops, beaches and local activities all close by.
