So, I decided to take my husband and two girls on a family trip to Mexico, so that the kids could have a different experience. Now I will admit, the pictures of this resort does not do it enough justice. It is absolutely beautiful. It is also very clean, I give them that. On the second day however, is when the accident happened. So me and my husband had complained to the front desk of the water in the bathroom flooding due to the stand in shower. Now obviously this is no fault of the staff, due to the way the hotel was built . The drain in the stand up shower should have been in the middle quite naturally , so that the water can go down. However the drain was in the corner, so the water only flooded. Common sense would be at least to provide a mop so we could consistently mop the floor once we showered. Second night there, I get out the shower, slip on the water on the floor we had complained about, and fell on the floor. When I finally came to, I had bust my head wide open. My husband had to run to the front desk and ask for assistance . Night manager came on a golf cart, to a clinic they had on site. To my dismay I needed stitches. She cleaned the wound , and the manager informed me that he would call a cab to take us to the local hospital. The taxi pulls up and night manager does not even offer to pay for it! I mean realistically this happened on your watch, and no common courtesy to at least pay for a cab?! So me and husband get to the hospital to find a clerk in the front desk tell us that it would cost me $2000 US DOLLARS for stitches !! Had I not been disorientated I would have gave her some choice words. We knew she was trying to stiff us due to the fact that we were Americans . So we take ANOTHER taxi cab back ($40) to the resort, to be questioned by the manager as to why we're we back so quick. We explained the charge of the stitches and he shook his head in amazement. I cannot believe for one second that he was not aware that they would charge us that much for stitches but that is neither here nor there. Next morning, wound bloodied and bruised, I get a call from the clinic "doctor" that was located in the resort, that I owed her $31 for
cleaning my wound!! I had to wait until I got to the United States to get my stitches!! I now have a permanent scar in which I will have to see a plastic surgeon for !!!!
