So many Mexican hoteliers think the word "Boutique" can be attached to any small scale hotel.
The Lecanda is the real deal. A real Boutique Hotel. Quirky, genuine and with a unique selling point. The USP here is the individual perfumes one for each of it's 7 rooms and one for reception. Such a lovely idea.
The rooms are fabulous. Not sure about room Adrian though. It would depend on who else was staying in the hotel. We got upgraded to the garden patio room "Elia' I think the owners are aware of the problems with room Adrian and only use this room when all others are filled. So at least they read their own TA reviews.
Fabulous bar with its own dedicated barman who serves you a free tamarind Margarita on arrival. Great cocktails and for once a good selection of fine wines. These are the touches that define Boutique hotels.
We had an enormous bath in room "Elia". But I am sure all the rooms have wonderful bath areas.
The rooms are well lit and for once I can actually read a book in bed.
The welcoming staff are so different to our previous hotel experiences in Mexico. They are well drilled, polite and English speaking and for once appear to be professionally trained in the skills of running a small intimate Boutique Hotel.More
