The hotel is luxuous and truly reflects the atmosphere of the city's golden age. We had a rainy weather during our stay so we spent most of our time at the hotel, which turned out to be a very pleasant break. The staff was so nice, it has been best experience of Mexican hospitality ! and the food was great too. Would love to come back !

A beautiful place run to perfection in terms of service and Mexican hospitality. It is however sad that the neighborhoods of downtown Merida have been abandoned by the local upper classes (divine chaste as they call themselves). This is the safest city in Mexico but unfortunately it's inner-city is living through a northward exodus. The hotel is a refreshing effort to restore a beautiful property and while they do everything to perfection, they are clearly not responsible for the depressing surroundings of what once was Mérida's finest neighborhood and now feels abandoned.

Beautiful and carefully restored palace. It is located centrally in Merida, and is a great base from which to travel to nearby Maya ruins Chicken Itza and Uxmal. Lovely staff took very good care of us. Good selection of breakfast foods.

I've spend 2 nights in the incredible four diamonds hotel and it was one of my best experience in Yucatan.
This 19th Century blue house colonial designed, has 8 fantastics rooms, private restaurant and intimate swimming pool. I recommend the Santa Lucia Suite for its lovely jacuzzi!

We just finished our second stay at Casa Azul, and this won't be our last. This is a very special place. The colonial building has been beautifully restored, with elegant furnishings that complement the historic structure. Even though there is a lovely "old world" formality to the place, it couldn't be more relaxed and friendly, because of the kindness of the staff. We enjoy having a full, delicious breakfast on the portico, listening to the fountain and the birdsong. After a day in the bustle and heat of Merida, it's a pleasure to relax by the small pool. Even though the hotel is right in the middle of the city, the rooms and grounds are quiet and the overall atmosphere is serene. . Not a hip hotel, of which there are plenty. Staying at Casa Azul is a unique experience.

Room Tip: We especially enjoyed Santa Lucia, which is located off the hallway that leads to the pool.
