We came over on the ferry from Cancun for the day. Rented a golf cart and went exploring. Found Captian Dulches on the recommendations of this board. This is a great spot with a lot going for it. Gorgeous view, plenty of room, long pier out into the turquoise water, (great spot to go swimming), cool musical sculpture out in the water, large fun pool with swim-up bar and clean facilities. Hardly anyone there, (maybe 20 people max), on a Monday. Here's where we got a little put off. Headed for a palapa on the beach and was told that was a $500MX, ($25 US) charge for the palapa, two loungers, two beach towels and two cocktails. We explained that we were there to make the day of it and would be buying plenty of food and drinks. When we started to discuss going somewhere else, our waiter came back and said that they now had a "special" to offer at $400MX. Ended up staying and spent a lot of the time in the pool area. Palomas and Margaritas were very good, but not a bargain at $120MX, $7US. Best thing we had to eat were the combo nachos, delicious and a large portion, $220MX, $11US. Bottom line, we would go back, but probably go straight to the manager at the start. By the way, never got the two drinks that were supposed to be included! Check you bill!!
This place is so good. The relaunch of this gem is so wonderful. Relaxing beach club experience on a quiet secluded area where you can really enjoy the environment and relax. The civiche is my favorite. And Paloma’s and Pina Coladas are the best!! Make sure you spend some time here when you visit isla mujere
We stopped at this beach club while doing a tour of the island and we were pleasantly surprised. There was no charge to enter, you just have to pay for your food and drinks. The food was really good and reasonable priced. We loved having the shaded pool area to cool off in, beautiful pools and very clean bathrooms. A great stop for lunch on a golf cart tour! We plan to go back in September.
So after spending 3 days at Parque de Suenos we thought we would try a different beach club. When we walked in we were told the cabanas by the pool had a charge BUT the beach was free to use. After sitting down and asking for a menu we were told there was a 350 peso or US 22 dollar fee, to sit in the chairs. Not sure how that math adds up but whatever. Got up and went back to Suenos where everyone is gracious and appreciative of business during low season and spent my 100 dollars. Also, was going to check Captains venue for a destination wedding. Yeah NO!
Had the whole place to ourselves the first couple of hours. Nice pool, lovely grounds, good food and service. All free with food purchase.
If you are on the island with transportation, this is a place you want to stop at. With a great pool, good food, good service, and a wonderful beach, it offers a nice setting for a few hours or for the day. The pool has some shade for those really hot days, and a pier with unique artwork. Their food menu is quite large, and there are many tables in the shade. It is worth the drive from the main city to enjoy this unique place.
