I have been to Isla Mujeres for 10 years and Rosa Sirena is a gem. Unique atmosphere, excellent food, different live musicians every night, and wonderful proprietors. The rooftop dining is a lovely way to spend an evening in a very positive, upbeat environment. . Highly recommend.

I can't speak to all the food on the menu, but we did enjoy our lemon cake. The live music was great and the desert was definitely big enough for two. A little pricey on the slice of cake at $8.00, but we enjoyed ourselves.

The only thing that gives me pause is the steep spiral staircase to get to the rooftop palapa bar. Don't wear a maxi dress trying to get up those stairs. It was challenging for me. But, once up there, a good time was had by all!

We have been on the island 4 days, and commented earlier today that we hadn't had any memorable, amazing meals. A quick search on Trip Advisor, and we found Rosa Sirena. We hopped in our cart, and 5 minutes later we were here. What an experience!

We climbed the spiral staircase, not knowing what to expect. When we arrived at the top, we were happily surprised to find ourselves on a rooftop patio, with a palapa roof, and soothing breeze. The owner Debbie greeted us warmly, and gave us a few seating options. We chose the bar. Once seated, we noticed the live music, a man playing some jazzy samba, and found out he's Debbie's husband, and chef, Willy.

We started with pepita crusted tuna, which was seared and served warm, with ginger and a neat trio of sauces. It was a smaller portion (4 cubes of tuna), but made up for it in fresh flavor and excellent preparation. For the main course we had frutti di mare risotto, and the catch of the day, in this case grouper prepared with a traditional chile sauce. Both dishes were prepared perfectly, and our mouths we're very happy. You know that perfect meal, where you almost don't want to eat or drink anything for awhile, so you can savor the flavors? That was this meal.

A local sitting next to us, who it turns out owns the nearby Isla Brewing Co. said to save room for their coconut cheesecake. After our meals Debbie told us that she makes the desserts personally. We ordered the coconut cheesecake, as well as the lemon cake, and double cappuccinos. Dessert was amazing, but the fun didn't end there.

Willy put on some music, and started handing out rhythm instruments around the bar, so we all started playing, trying to find the downbeat, and had a great impromptu time!

We will make sure to visit again before heading back home, and wish Debbie and Willy continued success.

We reserved a table for 6 here for Halloween and were blown away. I ordered the Frijoles Charros Soup for a starter and it was simply the best I had ever eaten. I ordered the fish of the day for my entree and again, it was flavored perfectly and then we ordered 1 slice of all the desserts to share. The winner was the coconut cheesecake, WOW.
We all like everything but that cheesecake, I shall dream of.

Rosa Sirena’s has absolutely nailed the art of perfection! It is obvious you are somewhere special the moment you step in the door. The atmosphere and decor is elegant and beautiful. Every detail has been tended to. We sat on the upper level which is open air with fabulous coastal breezes gently swaying you to the rhythm of the music. There was a lovely jazz singer with piano accompaniment. I had the drunken shrimp fettuccine which I will dream about constantly until my return in November! If you love desserts, may I strongly suggest you try the coconut cheesecake AND the lemon cake! Yes, you read that correctly, this is a place where you will be well advised to double up on the decadence! All desserts are handcrafted in house using family recipes! Whether you are on the island for a day or a month, you simply must make your way to Rosa Serina’s!
