My cabin attendant on my cruise ship suggested eating here and I am glad she did. I took a cab for $8 and arrived around noon. It wasn't busy at all. I sat down and was promptly greeted. I ordered a margarita, nachos and chicken enchiladas with mole.
Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Wound up ordering a second margarita! My food came out quickly and everything was hot and flavorful. The chips and salsa were excellent as well. I think my total bill was around $20 US including tip. They do add the 'propina' (tip) to your bill so check for that line item. I did give a couple extra dollars.
If you are looking for a yummy meal that's convenient to downtown but not full of tourists, try Abuela Gerardo. The servers do speak some English and the menu is in both Spanish and English.
