We really enjoyed the Pool Side Restaurant. Excellent fresh seafood and drinks! The Ceviche was outstanding. The service was also top notch. Grissel took excellent care of us during our stay. They also have daily live music playing, which was really nice. We highly recommend this hotel/restaurant.

Room tip: Rooms with a view of the ocean. Nice work out room. There's a kids game area. Several different restaurants on site to choose from.

We now have come back 3 years in a row and each time we visit the customer service has just kept getting better! We literally booked our trip less than 1 week before we arrived and Roxana - the concierge was so helpful ensuring we had transportation and all the advantages the Marriott Rewards offered us.

We took advantage of the Marriott Rewards and took the shuttle from the airport to the hotel - Again ,like last year, we had to wait at the airport for other travelers - I would think that this could be a little quicker - at one point both vans were there -

Check in was ok - we requested to stay in a room facing the Paradisus - We were told about 45 minutes - so we went to the beach and came back about an hour later and checked in - We also for the 2nd year didn't have a Mini-fridge in our room - so we needed to wait for that to be brought over - Why there isn't a mini-fridge in every room is beyond me - But that was the only frustration we had -

We soon met Erika on the beach who was an absolute doll! She made sure we were all settled every day on the beach - The beach is so beautiful we cannot get enough of it

PLEASE have your breakfast included in your package the buffet is awesome and our friend Christian - who makes a great omelette -was there again and remembered us - We also recognized some of our waiters and waitresses from prior years

We stayed on site for our meals-My dinner at the Japanese restaurant may have been the best Japanese meal I have ever had! - We ate at the Sedona Grill - I was a little disappointed at the meal there - The meal at the Thai was very good and the Italian Restaurant was superb! We celebrated our anniversary and they made the night very special for us

The lobby bar is great for a happy hour - It looked like the outdoor bar was being fitted for a canopy for the hot sun or rain - that would be a great addition -

The Exercise center is small but who needs a huge gym on vacation - We did not use the spa this year but we have had the message and it is great-

Again every year we have gone it has been wonderful and the service is always top notch! We did have rain on one day in January so our tan wasn't as deep as we could have got to make our New England friends jealous, but we are already looking into booking our next trip. See you next year!

Room tip: We like facing the Paradisus

My husband and I took a chance, despite USA government warnings, and booked a stay at Marriott CasaMagna in Cancun in March 2018. Everything about it was great. We enjoyed meeting and talking with Jose and Marco at the front door. They were helpful every day, and we tipped them accordingly on our last day. Jesus was our room steward and he too was excellent.

We cannot say enough about the beach staff. Daniel is the one to ask for when you want towels. He was so nice and very helpful. The free hut style beach umbrellas are first come, first served, and if you get there before 10:30 a.m., you will most likely be able to get one. Elena is an excellent masseuse. Efran was our favorite beverage waiter on the beach. The food prices were not horrible. We pretty much ate everything we wanted to and didn't break the bank. We liked the on-site restaurants, especially La Capilla, where Enrique V. was our sever. I would highly recommend including breakfast daily in your stay. Champs was a good sports bar, and prices were decent.

Unfortunately, there is a $25/day USD resort fee which I really believe should include in-room wi-fi. The lobby wi-fi was fine, but I really would have enjoyed wi-fi in-room. It was just too costly. Check with your cell provider, as Ver1zon has a Travel Pass for international travel. I have used it in both Mexico and Canada, and it is very much worth the $5/day charge. Of course, it uses your minutes and data. Again, totally worth it!

Other reviewers noted construction at the resort. We saw none other than basic upkeep, and felt that the room was in top-notch condition for the hotel rating. If you want top of the line, the JW is right next door, and the Ritz is a couple doors north. We are regular people with realistic expectations, and felt totally satisfied with our stay. Our room faced the ocean and had a nice sized balcony. The queen beds are not US sized, so if that matters to you, go for a king. The TV stations are mainly in Spanish, but we were able to find enough English speaking stations to suit our needs, with the exception of missing the first two rounds of the NCAA men's basketball. However, if that's a deal-breaker for you, go to Champs to see the big game!

Transportation to the resort was something we purchased ahead of time with Super Shuttle. That was ok, but we canceled our return to the airport with them (chose to and lost our $, but we were ok with that) because Marriott had transportation that we didn't realize they had! We were able to book return transport with Marriott @ $16pp and stay at the Marriott for a couple more hours! Much better than hanging out at the airport for four hours before flying out.

The is a 7-11 across the street that takes US dollars, and we went there several times for bottled water and pop. The free bottled water is fine at the resort, we just wanted bigger bottles. Yeah - you can drink the water in the Marriott's restaurants. There is a cute little (and we mean little) Taco Bar right across the street. The tacos were excellent! Hub had three and I had two shrimp tacos. We each had a can of Coke. Total of about $8 US. Well worth it! There is also a McDonald's across from the Marriott. We did not try it.

Speaking of transportation, if you're brave, take the city bus! It loads right out in front, and comes by every few minutes. One American dollar is all it takes each way! They drive faster than we are used to, but frankly, it was fun. Just raise your hand and they will stop.

Our advice is basic -bring about $100 US dollar bills, and another $100 worth of $5s for tipping, be realistic about your safety, and try to speak some Mexican Spanish.

Would we do this Vacations by Marriott vacation again? Absolutely!

Hotel could not have been better! Price was good, transportation easy and staff exceptional. The Buffet Breakfast was delicious with all the selections. From the moment we checked in, Erick at the Front Desk, Leonardo who helped with our luggage and recommended a restaurant for great Grouper, also Itzel the waitress at the Pool Bar always served with a smile, and finally Emmanuel (Thank you for the wonderful towel animals at Turn-Down every evening !) Only regret, did not get to meet the Concierge Akemi who helped with airport transfers. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it !
