We stayed 5 nights at the Westin in the Royal Beach Club. It was a great stay. I travel all the time and really liked this hotel, location and staff. The staff are so polite and work so very hard. It is a beautiful location. Need more restaurants to be open at night as there is only sea and stones and the sports bar. The sports bar's kitchen could not keep up with the crowd. Sea and Stones was great. I would recommend and go back to this location. Thank you

Room Tip: we had royal beach club lagoon view. Very nice and quiet

We were invited to the property on a special rate and attended the Vacation Club presentation while we were there. Our room was in the Royal Beach Club on the 5th floor overlooking the bay. It was a great room, and even though the room wasn't on the beach side, the view was fantastic. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

I've stayed farther up in the Hotel Zone previously and much prefer this location - it's closer to the airport and farther away from the nightclubs. The hotel felt safe, quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. I highly recommend checking out some of the local restaurants. The food at the property is good, but there were some great options nearby that we really enjoyed (Destileria and Navios).

The Vacation Club presentation was pretty close to what we expected - we spent about 2 hours there and did not become owners.

We stayed at this property last week, and were struck by the lack of quality control throughout the hospitality operations.
For instance, it took housekeeping three days to replace the tv in our room since they could not fix an error message on the tv, but there was not one word of apology.
The housekeeping/daily room cleaning was not up to the standards I have seen in other Westin properties. Hyatt and JW Marriot, even other Westin properties have shown much better quality housekeeping and attention to detail. I could not believe that the hair dryer in the room is similar to one you would find in much less claimed hotels.
They also had very few attendants and service crew for a completely sold-out resort condition; hence they took very long time to take drinks and food orders, forgot our drinks orders after repeatedly mentioning to them, and then took even longer to take/process payments. We did not see any managers overseeing the work. We ate at all their restaurants sports bar, and breakfast grill multiple times, and experienced the same kind of issues. So my observations are not based on one point of data. Exception was one manager a the sports bar who asked us for our input, made sure we were happy, and demonstrated an eagerness to put the guest first.

Room Tip: Sea view is the best, but most of those rooms don't have balcony. Lagoon view is not much of an excitement, but those rooms have balconies.

Full-disclosure-- we visited as part of a special discounted Westin offer to stay in their Westin Club (Royal Beach Club) and were very pleased. The staff was accommodating, and our room was very nice, clean and totally acceptable although not newly renovated. It had the fantastic bed, fluffy towels and great toiletries we expect from a Westin property. We had done our homework and knew there was construction at the hotel, but we never heard it and never were bothered. The hotel will be 5-star when finished. As part of Westin Club, we had a separate section and staff which felt more intimate and included a very nice daily breakfast and happy hour with drinks and a small snack. Even at 100% occupancy, we never felt crowded. There were plenty of beach-side and pool-side chairs. This property is great for couples and families with older children who just want to relax--it is at the south end of the strip, away from the noise and crowds, and there are miles of beautiful beach, but not much else to do which was fine for us. The concierge on-site can help arrange visits to local attractions. The Spa location is under construction and could use some improvement--the price/value is not "ready for prime time" yet and service is uneven. Lunch at the Westin Club was available beachside daily and was fantastic and fresh--servers regularly walked the beach, checking if we needed more drinks or food. The only thing that would have made our stay better was more restaurant options onsite. The Sea & Stones restaurant required reservations and was excellent (we ate there 3 nights in a row). However, the only other restaurant onsite was a Sports Bar, which was awful and took forever to get served. Our server and the manager were apologetic and comped our drinks, but clearly, they needed help in the kitchen--something was very wrong. The food and service at the Sports Bar were a total disconnect from the quality of our other food experiences in the Westin Club section, and at Sea & Stones.

Room Tip: Choose higher floors for less noise. Rooms on the second or third floor can be noisy from kitchen and pool.

The room was large and comfortable. Upgrades are being made and are very nice. The resort does not offer an all inclusive option. The restaurants are nice, but very pricey. The staff were really nice and helpful. The only negative comment we had was regarding the long distance from the parking garage to the guest rooms. Would definitely recommend.
