“Excellent staff - so nice people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2011

When my wife made a reservation at that hotel she told me that everybody said "excellent". I thought those reviews were because of the room rate. But from the moment when I arrived there, I fully agreed with all another guests who gave good rating for that hotel. All staffs are very nice and ready to help the guests, from the reception to room keepers. All of them speak English very well - Even though I talked to them in Spanish - when I asked one thing, they explained me with more than 10 different things. The location is very good as well which is very close to Zona Rosa, Paseo de la Reforma, Metrobus and Subway. The streets near the hotel are a little dark but I felt very safe. Just next to the door there is 24 store and Taco kiosko!!! I travel a lot to Mexico and most of them for the business and I stay at another hotels but I definitely go there again if I travel to Mexico for my vacation. I forgot to ask her name. Every staff is very nice especially a lady at the reception who was very nice. I want all of the visitors in Mexico know this hotel and that lady.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor for less noise

Great for what I needed - a safe, clean place to crash during my November Mexico City stay

I stayed here three nights in December. I can not vouch for any other time of the year. It may get too hot or cold in the rooms ... the only types of climate control seem to be the window with no screen (and yes there are bugs) and a fan kept in the closet.

Overall, I enjoyed the hotel. The price was outstanding. The front desk was very helpful. It's close to a huge high end shopping plaza, Reforma 222. There is plenty going on down Londres Street. There's a 7-11 on the corner (don't ask them to break any big bills!).

The elevator is tiny, but there is an elevator.

The room was small but functional. The bathroom was very nice and spacious.

Room security seemed good with an electronic key card.

Front desk is very helpful with trips, taxis, suggestions. The business room seemed nice, though I didn't use it. Free internet was great.

Restaurant was nice. Nothing fancy. Buffet breakfast had a lot of variety, though I didn't appreciate it too much (except the fruit). Everyone was very nice.

I certainly would stay here again ... it's nice to have some local charm with a personal feel, instead of some fancy dancy mega-international hotel. I bet the service there wouldn't be any better.

stayed 2 nights and found this to be a delightful little hotel with excellent service. The people were very helpful about directions and the location was ideal. 3 blocks to subway, 2 blocks to bus, surrounded by restaurants. Not fancy but had everything you need and clean. We also had free breakfast included in the price. Imagine.. the front desk clerk gave us his bus pass to use to get us around!! Would that happen anywhere else?

Stayed at the Hotel del Principado for three nights recently and really enjoyed the experience. The hotel is just a few blocks from the heart of the Zona Rosa but the short walk is more than made up for by the reasonable price of the hotel and it's general proximity to the Metro.

Had a bit of trouble initially arranging a spot on a tour one morning but when the problem was recognized the staff were really great about getting everything sorted. In general the staff is very welcoming and have excellent English.

My room was very basic but clean and comfortable, and certainly well worth the price. I definitely recommend it as an affordable home base for seeing the city.
