Chose hotel after reading the reviews and revisited reviews before writing this one, to see if I missed something. Is there anything really wrong with hotel no, is there anything fantastic about hotel no. This is your average decent value, good location economy lodge. Staff is friendly, concierge very helpful, morning complimentary breakfast needs improvement, bagels and bread stale, eggs over cooked and dry, not much of a selection but enough to get you going. Room 315 had very little air circulation. AC set to 64, never made lower than 70 and always felt warmer because the room was so humid, odd because outside was dry with low humidity (windows would not open). No fans in room so air was also stale. I did not complain because here for 2 nights and only used to sleep, did not want to waste precious time relocating. Sometimes I feel TripAdvisor reviews give way to much credit for just average. You can be better than average while offering value. This is from a reviewer who has been in hotel/restaurant hospitality for 30 years. I encourage you to enjoy the Centro location, even stay at Hampton Inn for value, but know for a nominal increase in pesos perhaps a world of difference awaits.

We were visiting Mexico City for the first time for a friend’s wedding and decided to stay an additional week to see the rest of beautiful CDMX.

After a disastrous unsanitary Air BnB apartment stay (1 night in the Condesa district. we needed a clean, safe hotel for our family and chose the Hampton Inn in the Centro Histórico district.

Upon waking into the Hampton Inn, I knew we made the right decision to stay here.

Everything just felt so clean, the staff were very accommodating and the building the hotel is housed in was beautiful.

Pros:
- Very clean common areas
- Staff were fantastic (exceptional concierge and Bellman)
- Very centrally located (minutes from the Zocalo & other historical sites)
- Complimentary coffee & tea available 24 hrs in the lobby
- On-site restaurant is great for families
- On-site laundry facility (Free for all guests, you just need to bring your in laundry detergent!)

Cons:
There were no real cons, more something that was annoying...

- Waffle iron should’ve had cooking spray provided because the batter kept sticking to the iron and made making waffles unpleasant.
- Some Ice machines did not have any ice

Overall, these were minor issues that did not really negatively impact my stay.

I cannot say enough positive things about my family’s experience at the Hampton Inn in CDMX. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and easy! We will most definitely be back!

Although the rooms are smaller this property has so much charm. It has a beautiful courtyard/atrium. The free breakfast was excellent and service can not be beat!
We will stay here again
It’s very close to the central part of Mexico City which is a must see.

I had a less-than-stellar experience at this hotel in the early Spring. After reaching out to management, I decided to give another try.
Every person ... to a one ... was pleasant, helpful, genuine and smiling.
The room, while not huge, was sufficient for what we needed (although be prepared for a VERY small bathroom).
The breakfast had LOTS of variety, with something different each morning we were there ... including chilaquiles.
The location is unbeatable; two blocks off the Zocalo.
They seemed to have ironed out their infrastructure issues, and all is well. Our whole party enjoyed the stay.

You cannot find a better location to be within walking distance of many sites, five minutes from the Zocalo and Templo Mayor and a 20 minutes walk to Bellas Artes and Alameda Park. It did not feel like we were dropped in a tourist area and there were lots of places to eat if you like traditional food. The hotel itself has nice suites with a living area as well as a bedroom which was spotlessly cleaned every day. As for the staff- superb. Everyone greets you with a smile and they truly want to help and i cannot say enough about Edgar, the concierge, as he was so helpful and utterly pleasant.Add free wifi and you've got a great place to stay in this wonderful city. One suggestion: If you have sleeping issues due to some noise I suggest you request a room on an upper floor. We started on the first floor but the noise of traffic bothers me and we were immediately accommodated and moved to a higher floor. I would definitely stay here again
