“Beautiful Apartment, Difficult Stairs”
Reviewed 20 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Apartment was great for us; two couples. Beautiful and well decorated. All amentities were available. Jorge Z coordinated from a distance. The local people, Juan Flores and his wife were very helpful. We were driving and got a bit lost, but all was well eventually, after an unexpected tour of the underground tunnels.

The only challenge was the stairs that everyone else has mentioned. We brought too much luggage -- next time we would only take essentials up the stairs.

Easy walking distance to the central Guanajuato Plaza de Paz (Peace) and other attractions. Restaurants were very good and reasonably priced.

Mr. K thank you for taking the time to write the review for us. Yes the stairs are a bit challenging however it makes the experience of what Guanajuato is truly known for all the more memorable. Aside from all the beautiful homes, restaurants, and sites to see the callejones and their stairs brings the whole experience of this city full circle. Also the views from up there are quite nice. We are glad you were able to manuever the stairs slowly, and that your stay with us was a good and comfortable one. We are also always glad to hear how Juan and Adela handle our guests, as they are always trying to improve their efforts also. Keep us in mind next time you visit, and hope the stairs are not a deterrent in staying with us again.

“Generous, genuine hospitality”
Reviewed 24 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Jorge is a great host but also respects your privacy. The apartment is a real home for your stay in Guanajuato. It is a quiet haven, generously furnished and superbly comfortable. You could not beat the location if you want to avoid staying in Centro. With all the enticing food it is good to stretch your legs on the 1km walk to Centro and back. We had the pleasure of staying for just over two weeks and still left things undone. We will be back!

First of all it was a pleasure meeting both you and having you over for our get together, and party. Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your stay as it helps us tremendously in improving things that need improving, and enjoying reviews from guests like you that have enjoyed not only our home, but the beautiful city of Guanajauto. Hope you made it to your next stop in Mexico safely, and enjoy it there as much as you did here. “So beautiful an apartment...bring your hiking boots”

When we saw this apartment and read about its location we were enthralled and excited about staying there. The owner Jorge Z was quick to respond to questions and make us feel confident. The apartment is one of the most complete and certainly the most beautiful we have seen. There are three apartments on top of each other. The top one has a balcony for sunbathing and there is a bakery across the street. I distresses me to have to comment on the location. It is located on the side of a hill above a main street and is approached by climbing up at least 100 steps. Not exactly stairs, they are broken stones, steep and only supported by a railing for a portion of the way. We found ourselves there with three suitcases and two backpacks. The climb was exhausting, and for my wife who is mobility challenged it was down right dangerous! We asked for and were graciously given a refund on a portion of our stay. I honestly have a hard time having to give this place a less than perfect score because the interior of the apartment was gorgeous!

We appreciate you taking the time to write this review. I mentioned to you previously that it helps us improve our services. The stairs are mentioned in our details of our homes, but there is so much to read it can easily be overlooked. My neighbor and I added the railing at our own expense for the use by our guests, and for everyone else that lives on the callejon. Guanajuato is a very old city built on hillsides, and some of the stairs are probably just as old. Yes it can be difficult for people up in age such as myself to maneuver around town, and the stairs. However on the plus side the higher you are in the callejon the more spectacular the views of the city, and away from the hustle and bustle that is so much a part of this magical city. Being up the callejon gives us an opportunity to experience the people, and callejon living at its best. So sorry the stairs were and issue, but hope you enjoyed the city and all it has to offer. Thank you for your kind words on our home, as it sounds like you really enjoyed that part of your stay.

“Best casa on the best side of town”
Reviewed 7 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed at the Casa de la Paz, baja level and we had a fabulous time. The apartment was spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you would want to fix meals although we ate out a lot because the food in GTO was so reasonable and good. Jorge, the owner of the building was incredibly attentive. Even though he lives in Houston, he responded to my concerns in a prompt manner. If he couldn't resolve it, he made sure that Juan, the "miracle worker", was there to help us. (Note: Juan only speaks Spanish so if you don't, you will need to communicate with Jorge). We also appreciated that he arranged to have a driver for our airport arrival and departure days and the driver even helped with getting our luggage up and down the ubiquitous stairs. The 90 steps were challenging (for us) but doable. We just took our time and went up and down slowly. The house is located in a very nice neighborhood near the Embajadora. It was also an easy 20-minute walk to the Zona Central. We heard from other people about being next to noisy, boisterous bars playing music until 2 a.m. Not here. There were the usual sounds of chickens and occasional dogs barking but our Master Suite bedroom was quiet so we didn't hear any noise when we were sleeping. The king mattress in the Master Suite was excellent. We were in the apartment for the entire month of March and its decor and spaciousness was a welcome sight when we returned from a day of exploring the city of GTO. The only suggestion we had for Jorge was that he should include a Renters Guide for the apartment.

Liked best: The casa was spacious with Mexican decor and well-stocked kitchen.
Liked least: The 90 steps of the callejon to the casa. However, if you've chosen to go to GTO, you know there will be lots of steps.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on your stay at Casa De LaPaz. All comments positive or negative gives us the opportunity to improve on areas that guests feel need attention. It also makes us feel good when you have enjoyed your stay, and enjoyed this magical town of Guanajuato. Glad you found the house comfortable, and everything you needed in the kitchen to cook if you wished. I am grateful to have such a good property manager who can take care of things on a whim. Makes guests more comfortable knowing that issues can be addressed quickly. We will add a renters guide to the house, and the city for better overall orientation upon arrival. Thank you for that suggestions,as it is very much appreciated. We wish you safe travels in the future, and hope to see you in Guanajuato in the future.
All The Best

Mr. D I can't respond to you by your name in my response to your review, but I just don't know what to say at this point. We have had many quests stay previously, but you were the first to rent all three levels at the same time, and your overview of all three levels was more than I could possibly ask from any quest. Your description of all three levels just covers everything the houses offer perfectly. You covered what was good about all three levels, and the differences in all of them. I can't say that enough, and I can't say how much we thank you for doing such a thorough review of all the homes. We were glad to help you with your party for such a large party, and I am glad that you had adequate space for all your guests. The feedback from Mr. Flores were all positive positives on you and your friends. Seems your birthday party was the event in GTO that weekend, and we are glad we could help arrange the music and food for you. Thanks to our conversations away from Flipkey we are going to do some modifications to the Casita to make that level even more special. I didn't know you had been to Cervantio/GTO that many times, so we would love to have you back in the future. From all of us associated with Casa de LaPaz we thank you, and wish you safe travels in the future. Hope to see you soon.
