Whale watching with Vallarta Adventures was truly a wonderful experience. The sun was beaming and there was a slight breeze - a great day for whale watching. From the API Marine Terminal (you will pay 26 pesos to get into the terminal) you board an inflatable boat. We had about 25 on our trip and it was not uncomfortable. Outfitted with a life jacket we sped off 25 miles from shore. Our guide and captain new exactly where to go for our best chances of spotting these beautiful creatures. One we arrived it was not long before we spotted one then two then three whales. A mamma and her baby. The baby was breaching and slapping his fin while playing. We then moved to another location and found even more whales to observe. At one point they were less than six feet from the boat.
Please remember to wear sunscreen a hat and sunglass. You are far from shade and the sun and wind are harsh.
The staff at Vallarta Adventures were pleasant and safety conscious at all time. Our guide (and I am sorry I do not remember her name) was so knowledgeable about the whale and their habits. She answered any questions we had and it was obvious that she loved her job!More
