“idyllic, comfortable and relaxed- beachside bliss with a "wow" factor”

if you want to stay in Puerto Vallarta and dont wont the pre packaged hotel experience, then this is ideal.

The apartment is perfectly situated overlooking Playa des Muertos beach, with a panoramic perspective, about 100m(100yds) from the edge of the sea. The bedrooms are comfortable (the main bed is firm), with 2 bathrooms and a practical kitchen. The main bedroom looks over the ocean, and the second bedroom has its own balcony. Both bedrooms have AC, and there are fans throughout to keep the airflow moving through the efficient cross ventilation.

The main balcony is the perfect place to sit, glass of wine in hand, and either take in the amazing sunsets as the sun sinks into the ocean, or have a pre dinner drink before walking to one of the many amazing (and reasonable) restaurants, either on the beach itself or in one of the nearby streets- our favorite was Maia- about 20yds from the building.

The beach clean and vibrant, though at night it calms down, as you drift off to sleep with the sounds of the waves on the beach.

The building is safe and friendly, the staff very accommodating and the daily cleaner efficient and unobtrusive. Ken, the owner, is extremely helpful and gave us excellent advice and assistance.

There are not many places which when you get there, you go "wow" for it is so much better than your expectations, this is one of them- we will definitely be back.

“Great condo, good location, close to everything!”

The condo is exactly as it looks in the pictures. Clean, comfy, spacious, secure, well-stocked kitchen, great views. We loved the balconies. It is conveniently located. No car is needed and we were able to walk everywhere. Or we could walk to the bus stop and catch a bus. There are wonderful restaurants very close by. There are also little convenience stores everywhere. Great blackberry margaritas just down the beach at a little place called Burros. Also, wonderful food at Takos Panchos. In fact, we didn't have a bad meal the entire time. All the food was terrific. Even though the condo has a kitchen, we used it only for snacks, light meals, and coffee. It was just so much fun, and so relaxing, to eat at the beach restaurants most nights. We took a taxi from the airport to the condo, but I would recommend catching a bus back to the airport, because that is much more affordable and very easy. it was 7.5 pesos per person by bus, whereas it cost us $40 (US) for a taxi for four. Most businesses seem to accept dollars (US and Canadian) but we were told you get a better deal when you pay with pesos. There are several ATMs in the area, but very few of them dispense pesos. And they frequently are out of service, and have long lines. I would recommend changing as much money as possible in the airport. Also, none of the little businesses and retaurants accept credit cards. There are a few cons I woud list. This area is extremely busy and can be very noisy. There were several nights when the garbage was picked up at midnight. Even if we had the windows closed, we would wake up to hear banging and crashing noises when the garbage truck came. Also, the pool is very small, and there is no hot tub. Yes, we were at the ocean, so perhaps a pool doesn't really matter, but it's nice to have that option. And I love hot tubs. There isn't beach access directly from the pool. There are no beach chairs available in the condo, and you'll need to take your own beach towels. The beach is nice, but the nearby restaurants set up chairs and tables very early in the morning, taking up most of the good beach areas. You're not allowed to sit in these unless you are a paying customer. We swam in the ocean a lot, and this is a great and fun area for that. We didn't have much interaction with the staff at the condo, but when we did, everyone we spoke with was helpful and pleasant.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

As always the condo was great. It is right on the beach with a great view. Secure building and very easy walk to the beach. The decks are great for people watching. Close to several great restaurants. We either taxi'd, bussed or walked to where we needed to go. No rental car needed.

“Our happy place! Amazing view of the best beach in town & in walking distance to delicious food. Don't miss El Dorado!”

We've been traveling to PVR for a decade... And Condo 501 at El Dorado is the place to stay! The staff is friendly and bilingual. Daily maid service beyond anything you'll find in the States. Very safe & secure complex. Great tile pool and beautiful, large sun deck. And 501 is a gorgeous condo! Very authentic, yet modern. Comfortable king beds, spacious condo, 2 balconies, full kitchen. We can't get enough of the huge walk-in showers! The balcony is somewhere you may just want to set up camp. Our favorite part of everyday is sipping coffee & observing the mountains on the south shore that roll into the ocean... And the sunsets are amazing! Really, this is a once in a lifetime kind of view. The beach is always full of activity, but not overcrowded. And the food in Old Town/Romantic Zone is the best! You can walk to delicious food, drink, etc anytime! There's also a 24 hour store right across the street for all the basic necessities. The beach at the condo has a restaurant with beach chairs, food, & drinks... There are also several other bars/restaurants on this stretch of beach if you like variety. On Saturdays there's a farmer's market less than half a block away. Seriously, this place is super convenient to anything you might need and everything you want to experience during your trip. Don't stay at an all-inclusive, or the hotel zone, or anywhere else... Stay at the El Dorado!!
