The hotel staff was so friendly and welcoming. All of the hotels were clean and presentable. The staff spoke great English and were very helpful! We would go back in a heartbeat and also stay at other El Cid resorts!

We stayed at the El Cid Castilla, our first all-inclusive resort. The resort is very clean and close to transport anywhere you want to go, close to restaurants if you are on the European Plan and we liked the ocean view room.
From our room you could watch the sunrise over the city and the sunset over the ocean.

Having the El Moro and the Granada close offers more options for food and for pools as well as the shuttle to the El Cid Marina, which is a very nice resort set in the marina. Everything seems to be very clean and well maintained. I thought the food was good, although we didn't get to sample any of the A La Carte restaurants due to some misinformation on the part of the staff in that section of the resort. Although there isn't a fridge in the room, you could get water anywhere in the resort, they even gave you a bottle at dinner and lunch even though you didn't ask for it. We kept it for later and always had water on hand that way.

My only negative would be reception on check-in. Too many people, too many lines, too many people talking at one time in close proximity to each other.. We were early so we couldn't check in, but they didn't offer to put our luggage away and when we did come back 3 hours later, our room wasn't ready.

Check out was much better and because our group left the resort at 7:00 a.m., they even opened 1 restaurant early so we could have breakfast before we left.

It was a good experience for our first all-inclusive and our first adventure to Mexico.

I have been coming to this resort for years always treated great. Love the pool bar grill. Best waiter ever is Francisco Vallejo. Made eating and drinking there fun! Love this guy! Our room was always clean. Many choices of dining. The waiter Roberto at the large pool was awesome. He was always there to serve. All in all a fun time.

We loved our stay. Room, food, pool, beach, shows....all Great. Very affordable. Perfectly situated between the two big islands, swim-able beach. Avoid the instant timeshare people on your first minute in.

Room Tip: Plastic mattress cover annoying, too thick pillows

Grandar was super lucky this year! She got to visit Mexico again with another set of beautiful grandbabies; a grandgirl, aged 6 and a grandboy aged 4 as well as their parents.

We stayed at the El Cid Castilla and really enjoyed it. First of all, we would give very high marks to the swimming pools. We had access to 5 of them. While staying at the El Cid Castillia, we were able to swim in the warm pools of the El Moro, the El Cid Granada and Castillia. We took a free shuttle to the El Cid Marina and although we could not get food or drinks, we were allowed to swim in their pool. There are two pools on the El Cid Marina property; one very warm and one very cold. The cold pool has an attached hot tub which was restricted to kids 12 and over but we did sneak our little ones in for a bit and no one seemed to mind. We watched them carefully so they would not splash anyone! As we lounged in the hot tub, we observed a large, green iguana sipping water from the hot tub. We all hoped that the chemicals would not addle its reptilian brain.

The food in the buffets was standard fare for all inclusives; however, we found the food offered in the specialty restaurants to be delicious! It's easy to make reservations as long as we arrived early in the morning to make them. We went on a taste tour of the Mexican, Argentinian, Italian and Japanese restaurants. At the Japanese restaurant the grandgirl managed to inhale an entire California sushi roll and accepted Grandar’s offer to share some of hers! Then cheesecake for dessert! Yummy! In the evening buffet, there is a nightly show at 7. This was a bonus for us as our young ones were able to see the shows which they enjoyed. The grandgirl tried to talk us into purchasing her one of the more revealing costumes but we said No!

The rooms were spacious and cleaned every day. One thing we noticed was that we were able to access several English channels, which my grandgirl roomie really appreciated.

While in Mazatlán, we attended the Mazatlán Aquarium and took a Jungle Cruise to Stone Island. We enjoyed both. Taxis which look like golf carts are easy to get and we found the drivers to be very helpful and friendly.

All in all, it was a fun trip and we would return again.
