Simple but pretty design on the exterior.
Interior is very beautiful.

It was a great experience visiting this cathedral! The inside is very beautiful, and the workmanship and materials are quite impressive. Be very respectful of those who are inside for mass, and try not to make a lot of noise!

Although the cathedrals in Mexico cannot compare to Spain or Italy, they are still quite nice and worth a visit. Please respect that this is a house of worship when you go. We were a little embarrassed to see tourists barge in to take pictures and loud conversations while some were there to pray. If you visit, plan to make a donation at the box provided. This is just about across from the central market so do both while there.

Make sure to step inside and truly take in the beauty and detail of the walls, ceilings, etc. Truly remarkable architecture and such a rich history.

I took the bus and got off near here. Only a short walk.It is only open evenings after 6 pm. I showed up in the evening in the middle of mass and joined in. It was a Catholic mass in Spanish. Everyone was very friendly. I enjoyed looking over the inside of the church.
