The Malecon (boardwalk) is pretty and clean and uncrowded with great views of the lovely bay and the colossal blue sailfish, but it doesn't have nearly as much to do as Puerto Vallarta, unless you turn inland and walk across the street and around the old El Centro area of town where there are shops and restaurants. It's so untouristy that I had to search a bit for postcards. We enjoyed the area, but don't expect a long boardwalk with a lot of seaside cafes like you find in PV.
