The huge marlin statue represents the city of Manzanillo and is a great photo op. There are lots of statues by Mexican artists along the walkway and it is worth seeing.

We hired a driver to show us the Manzanillo area and were glad we did it. He showed us many places that regular tours don't take tourists. Seeing the area this way really shows how the residents live. The Malecon area was very quiet while we walked through it. Walking along the market area was very hot and crowded but was still enjoyable. It is hard to imagine just how big the sailfish is until you try to take a picture of someone standing beside it! The thing is huge!

The park area at the Malecon is lovely. Some good shopping and restaurants. We found clean bathrooms on the second floor of the Municipal building. very important on a walking tour.

Nice water views and worth a quick stroll around. But, aside from some small eateries and souvenir shops, there's really not that much to see. The area is neat and clean and the sword fish sculpture is a nice photo opt.

We strolled up a side street and found a local market with a wonderful selection of local tequilas which was very reasonably priced compared to other port stops. So, for us it was worth the stroll into town.
