I recently spent 5 nights at the Hotel Parque Central in Monterrey, Mexico. This is a small hotel located across from the Parque Alameda in the center of the city. It's a great location; easy to get to the Zona Rosa. Macroplaza and is near several metro stations.
I stayed in a room on the 2nd floor facing the intersection of Pino Suarez and Washington. Even though this is a busy area during the day, it was very quiet at night.
The room was much larger than I had expected and immaculately clean. There was cable television and a wireless connection that worked very well on numerous devices. The bathroom was spotless and the cleanliness of the room was maintained very well during my stay.
Breakfast is complimentary but nothing special. Scrambled eggs, refried beans, toast, juice, coffee; the same fare every morning. There is an à la carte menu available and the restaurant is very popular with locals for breakfast and lunch.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful at all times during my stay, although English is not widely spoken.
This is a family-style hotel and caters mostly to Mexican tourists, businessmen and families. During my stay there were several large groups staying at the hotel but the noise level was quite low. Hotel Parque Central is a 100% non-smoking facility.
My only recommendations for the hotel would be to replace the pillows, which are a bit "mushy," and perhaps equip the "habitaciones sensillas" with a mini-fridge to keep beverages cold in the blazing Mexican summer.
Based on price, location and comfort, I would recommend the Hotel Parque Central and definitely stay there again.
