Such a cool experience. I desperately want to go back! Be advised the Rosario Islands are no Turks & Caicos - they are still a bit wild, with bugs (lots of them), chickens roaming, lizards, etc.! BUT they are so uniquely beautiful and exotic. Take a speedboat from Cartagena and arrive 45 minutes later at the Agua which is like coming upon South Beach in the middle of the wilderness. Incredibly chic bungalows (three I believe), most with their own private pool and crazy views out to the islands. Try to get Bungalow #1, it's worth the extra $$ for the privacy and the totally private pool. Common area on the edge of the water, floating dock with private sunbeds and thatched lodge. The food we had was amazing - fish/lobster literally caught from the Mar Caribe that day. Downers: extreme stairs up to the bungalows, massive amounts of bugs (only at night). Actually the whole place is a bit scary at night - a little like Jurassic Park. But safe, obviously, just very exotic/wild. Service leaves a little to be desired, too, but all we really cared about was quick access to cocktails, and that part was just fine! Such pristine beauty is a must see though. I highly recommend combining a few nights at the Agua in Cartagena with one night in Baru. We stayed at the Agua Cartagena first and they arranged the whole thing for us, speedboat ride out ot Baru, etc.
