A few days as a home base. You won’t find pristine beaches anywhere nearby but you can relax and be entertained.

Beautiful places around Ao Nang to reach by boats - big choice of excursions and very good experience, really enjoyed it.
The negative side of Ao Nanag - the main street (where shops, hotels and restaurants are located) smells with sewage all the way leading to the beach. No smell inside the hotel though. Kate, UK

We were harassed by drag queens who insisted upon taking a photo and thereafter tried to charge us 300 Baht. Beach is okay, not much to see. Prices are quite high even after haggling, given that it's an area with heavy tourist traffic

It’s an alright beach and it’s nice and close to everything but it’s a little crowded with people and boats

Not much of a beach area for sunbathing - almost non existent when the tide is in.
The water isn’t very clear at all and the beach is both noisy and busy with all the longtail water taxis.
There’s quite a lot of rubbish in the shaded areas at the back of the beach however this can only be expected given that Ao Nang doesn’t seem to have any dustbins?!
We made the mistake of squeezing ourselves into this beach for our first 2 days before taking a boat to other beaches which are much nicer.
