Our first visit was a Friday after unloading the first van load at our new home. It was a Friday. The fish and chips were sublime and the staff and other drinkers were very friendly. Glad to call this our local now. Good beers, good company and very good service.

We went here last night after learning that it was steak and burger night. We got there at 6 and the place was empty, I asked if we could get a table for 2 and a pushchair which the barmaid said she would have to check. I was surprised she had to check but then later realised as the pub filled up.

We were a bit disappointed that they only had soup on offer for starters but when we asked about it we were offered a few different dishes that were not on the menu. We chose to go straight for the mains. My partner had rump steak that was cooked perfect to how she likes it which she had a peppercorn sauce with and I had a sin bin burger which was delightful, we shared some breaded mushrooms which were also pleasant. We then shared a rocky road waffle dessert that was also very nice.

The pub itself has been refurbished to a lovely standard that has kept that traditional country pub feel and would suit many guests. Our bill came to £30.50 which i would say was excellent value for money, with the steak and burger being 2 for £15. Overall I would say our visit was excellent and would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone.

Stopped on our cycle for a late lunch and had 3 good mains for £5 each. Busy at the bar with locals but plenty of seating and tables outside in the sun. Friemdly service, would happily stop off again.
