They say new owners and it's "clean" now. Don't buy it. It's a lie. By far the worst budget accommodation we've been to in Malaysia. We stayed in a double room, which was about as big as a shoe box and you can literally hear every word and sound coming from the room next door. We could even see trough the wall/ceiling when our neighbors had there light on. Though when I farted it was pretty funny because the people in the room next to us started laughing.

The bathrooms are not nice either and there is one toilet paper roll outside of the bathrooms, for all toilets together. So you have to take as much as you think you will need before you go in, which I think is overdoing being a budget place.

The only good thing about this place is the Jungle Bar, which is really cool but you don't have to be a guest to go there. So there is really not one reason to stay there.

Unfortunately I booked two nights here. Firstly the dorm rooms have no plugs so you have to charge electricals outside. It also gets cold at night so this is more then inconvenient.

The blankets are made from the worlds most itchiest material, so if you don't have a sleeping bag liner you are in for one itchy night.

There was two different staff members working whiled I was there, the English lady was quite nice and did try her best. However the Asia guy was rude and really unhelpful, he had no intrest.

The dorm room has no door so the cold just comes right in at night and in the morning, so you have to wrap yourself up the worlds most itchiest blacket.

On a good note the wifi is fast and it's in a good location right next to the main town, or on another note close to lots of other places to stay to get yourself out of there.

Yes it's only 12 ringgits but I would never stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel looks fairly run down from the outside and doesn't get too much better looking when you get inside. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and lovely to deal with.

There is a musty smell in the corridors but the rooms don't smell as bad. The staff seem to leave the windows open to air out the rooms. Our room came with a TV but it didn't work. The wifi has been excellent the whole time. The shared bathrooms have squatter toilets. Shower had hot water. You have to give deposit for towels which aren't in great condition.

The building is located right in the centre of town so as soon as you leave the hotel you have a choice of restaurants. It is less than a 10 min walk to the bus station.

Kangs have a their own tour operator on site which I would recommend using if you're planning a trip around the highlands as we used another company and we were let down by the poor service but we seen the Kang tour throughout the day and it looked a lot more professional than our tour.

I would have given this accommodation a poor rating but we paid so cheaply for the room and it rings through that you pay for what you get!

We booked for their so called resort and even bank in advance payment as they requested but once we call again they say the resort was fully booked. after scold them for their careless and not professional attitude they apologize and offer to stay in hotel. due to the high peak season we had no choice but to stay here. rooms were horrible. totally different from the pictures they show in internet. bathroom heater not working. the staffs were friendly. price is cheap but the hotel in a very bad condition. regret to pay in advance if not sure wont even go here.

Room Tip: every room sucks

since i am senior writer i usually dont write nice reviews but this hotel is nice. dont believe any bad reviews which are written in trip advisor as they are all false. i am staying here right now and i also stayed here 3 years ago. the place is still nice and the standards have not gown down.
i stayed one night in a single room and i paid 35 ringgit. thats US$10 per night. bathroom was not attached. bathrooms were clean though.
the second night i switched to a double room with a bathroom. i am paying 50 Ringgit per night. room is spanking clean, toilet paper and 2 towels are supplied and a soap. bathroom is small but not too small. it has hot water. and was also very clean.
considering this is a popular tourist destination, you cant get any thing cheaper and cleaner than this.
there is no food in the hotel but tea and coffee is available. free wifi with a nice seating area on the front is a plus point.

Room Tip: better make a booking as it is usually full
