We were in Buggerru for my wife to connect with her grandfather's roots. In the late 1800's the area was a center of mining. Today, the sleepy little town has a nice beach and very friendly locals. The trip there is a twisting, switch-back drive, but beautiful. The Ristorante San Nicolo is the perfect place to enjoy the natural wonders of the mountains and beach. Setting on the terrace, with good wine, pasta, and incredible scenery will long be a great memory. The San Nicolo's owner was especially attentive, and took down my wife's family information to see if he could find out more for her. Don't miss the photos mounted around the inside walls that show the mining operations, and hardships, of the past.

As far as food with a view is concerned, this place is a great option for lunch. It is set above the beach just outside of Buggerru. We had fish and seafood with salad and roasted vegetables which were not bad but it all felt it needed a little bit extra to make them really good.

We have passed this restaurant on the way to Buggerru. It is located just on a beach. We hoped to have more food options in Buggeru so passed by.

After hour, we were back. There were only 2 places open in Buggeru and none had tables available outside.

We are glad we got back to Ristorante San Nicolo. I had a great grilled Sea Bass and my partner opted for Tuna Steak with tomatoes. Both dishes were good. We both would order them again. We also had french fries and caprese salad. A little disappointed with the cheese in the salad - not a proper mozarella. Overall nice service, menu in English and good sea view.

We ate here several times, the pasta San Nicolo was my favourite although the clam and Bottarga was also great. The mixed grilled fish was good and reasonable and the service was great. I would come back.

We stumbled on upon this restaurant as we went to the beach there, initially i thought we would get the tourist treatment ie expensive, tasteless, fast food. Was i mistaken or what!!!

This is a must return sort of place, started off with various dishes then proceeded to the pasta which was servied in copious amounts and then topped it off with a fresh sole. the desserts were also amazing but the very friendly owner topped it off by placing 6 bottles of his own after dinner brew on the table. limoncello, limocello cream, Mirto, Mirto Cream and 2 others made of liquiorice, all bottles were ice cold. the shame is we had a 2 hour drive ahead of us so only managed to sip each as a taster; the limoncello cream was to die for, next time i will camp on the beach....

the pizzas are served only in the evening as they are cooked in a log fire.
