everyone very professional, helpful and friendly.
Easy and relaxing resort.
Excellent beach. Excellent food. Comfortable rooms.
recommend caution with flight to island , not easy connection and southern air plane leaves well before the scheduled time.

We had a great stay at this hotel, and the beach was really beautiful. We stayed in a beach front bungalow, and highly recommend it. It was wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and to be able to relax on the porch and watch the waves, and to be just steps from the beach. The water was warm and great for swimming or kayaking. We borrowed a kayak one day and paddled to the nearby cove. We paddled across the cove to check out the caves on the other side. The rocks were too sharp to enter, but we did see a large white owl fly out, and we picked up some conch shells on the beach nearby.

We were there in March and never had problems with bugs, and never used bug spray. I was worried about the water being too cool that time of year, but it was still warm because it was so shallow.

We drove to see the Stella Maris Resort one day, but it's on a hill overlooking the Atlantic side, and the views and beach access just don't compare to Cape Santa Maria. If you're not sure which to choose, definitely choose Cape Santa Maria! The food at the Cape Santa Maria restaurant was wonderful, and we definitely recommend getting the breakfast/dinner plan. The other restaurants on the island are very small local places, which are fine for lunch, but after trying the food at the resort, you won't want to eat anywhere else.

The rooms have no TV, no phone, and no wifi, so be aware. There is wifi in the lobby of the main hotel.

We drove to Dean's Blue Hole one day, but it was a long drive, and there wasn't a lot to see snorkeling when we were there. It was also sad seeing the run down houses on the drive there. The island's economy is weak, especially after the hurricane, although it has no shortage of beautiful beaches and great fishing.

We drove to Columbus Point one day, but the road there was in terrible condition, and it wasn't worth the drive and risking damage to the rental car.

Our favorite beach besides the one at Cape Santa Maria was on the Atlantic side of the northern end of the island. Drive north past the Columbus Point sign and continue on the paved road until you get to a cove with a river emptying into it. Walk over the crumbling concrete bridge and up the dirt trail over the hill, and you'll get to a beautiful cove with a secluded beach. We waded across the cove to the island near the Atlantic, and the water was warm, clear, and beautiful. We highly recommend visiting this spot.

The resort was beautiful, but in need of renovation to update the rooms. For example, the bungalow had white laminate counters in the bathroom with wood trim, and the laminate had some stains. The white tub also had stains, and the grout was cracking. The staff was very friendly, we did really enjoy our stay there.

My husband, 7months old baby and I stayed at CSM for a week. We loved the beach and the sunsets. Our bungalow was clean but nothing special. Two beds, no tv and an old fridge that kept waking us up in the middle of the night.
The restaurant was ok but not great. Friendly staff but a long wait for simple orders like avocado toast. The menu could have been better with more healthy options. More fruits and veggies.
The bugs that you don't see will eat you alive, if you are unlucky. Baby oil and bug spray are musts!
We went to TCI (middle Caicos) for a week before heading to Long Island and I would say I prefer TCI, Blue horizon resort, much better than CSM.
Sorry CSM, I guess our expectations were too high!

We had the privilege to stay at CSM for two nights before the rest of our family arrived to spend the rest of the week at a private house on Long Island. We got to explore the entire island throughout the week, with the exception of the southern end. We only made it to Clarence Town. From what we saw, CSM was by far the best lodging option.

Slightly more expensive than Stella Maris Resort, we agreed it was definitely worth the extra cost. The beach is unreal. The sand, as soft and fine as flour. The water glows a surreal blue when the sun is shining in the sandy bottom cape.

We chose Southern Air Charters to get to get to and from Long Island. NAS to SML at 2pm on Friday, delayed 1hr 40min. 1st Morning flight on Saturday at 9:00am SML to NAS was delayed. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time for connections. larger groups could charter their own plane, but I couldn't find another airline with regualar service to Long Island. US Customs are cleared in NAS for US-bound flights FYI.

Getting there from the Stella Maris Airport was arranged by the helpful staff at CSM via $30 taxi ride. There is a very small grocery and liquor store on the main road, and we told our driver to please stop at those on the way. CSM is about a 15 minute ride from the airport without stopping.

Check in was a breeze and we got settled in Bungalow #5 for two nights. The room is large with an extra large screened porch/lanai with a table and chairs for enjoying a insect free evening outside. The room does not have a TV. The toilet and tub/shower are average, but clean and tidy. Furnishings are nice, but not luxurious. The bed was comfortable and we slept great. The water from the faucets are good to drink. There is a small refridgerator in the room as well as an ice bucket -the ice machine is in the main cabin.

Beware - If you are not protected by bug spray, the no-see-em's will literally eat you alive. The Bahamas is a paradise, but bug bites will put a damper on things. You can't really even see these bugs until they have bitten you, they are so small - but they are real, and you will regret not taking precautions with bug spray or long sleeves and pants (lightweight of course).

The restaurant at CSM is very nice and the food was all of a very high quality, and reasonable prices. The restaurant and bar are enclosed with screens, and they also have a handful of outdoor tables on the ocean. Beautiful.

Can't say enough about how gorgeous this place is. The expensive hobby of bonefishing yields to yet another discovery of a diamond in the rough. If you are interested in bonefishing, Docky at Bonafide Bonefishing is the man to talk to. Excellent guide.

Room tip: If you need wi-fi ask for bugalows 7-14. The best beach views are not in the rooms that have the wi-fi.

The place has amazing view and very private. Every bungalow is facing the beach which is great for me, but not for someone who have problem sleeping with some sound. The room has enough space and clean. Service here was very friendly. The hotel also offers plan meal for 60 some dollars, which include breakfast and lunch. Pretty good deal of you always eat full course dinner. They also have Villa , which is much newer than the bungalow, if you got more people on vacation. That's best to go for.

Room tip: Bungalow has no wifi, but villas do.
